I was surprised that the hotel combines the local feature so well without sacrificing the comfort and modernity of the facility. the hotel is new and I think the price we pay is a perk right now. bathroom is modernized, electric kettle, coffee bags are provided. equivalent to four star hotel facility.

Woodland Sanctuary exceeded all our expectations! The wooden family suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and immersed in nature. Waking up to the sounds of birds and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere was an unforgettable experience. The staff was extremely helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our incredible hosts, Madhu, her husband and Komari. The hotel is nestled in a beautiful, calm location with a spice garden, created by our lovely hosts, outside of busy and loud Habarana. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony, modern aircondition and very good  water pressure. A short swimming in the pool in the morning was a fantastic way to start a long, hot day. It is just a short walk from the property. They are building a pool on the property right now (september 2025). The food was absolutely delicious — authentic Sri Lankan flavors at it's best. Madhu and Komari are great cooks and prepared all kinds of delicious traditional dishes with so much knowledge and love. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner for five days and they were happy to show us  the incredible variety of Srilankan food. Certainly the best food experience we had on our trip! What truly made the experience special was their extraordinary kindness and hospitality. They did everything to make us feel like home. Thank you and ayubowan, Madhu and her kind husband, Komari and the rest of the crew, for making our trip so memorable. We hope to come back to this wonderful place. Highly recommended!

Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main road. It is therefore very accessible to other important cities, such as Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, etc. As well as to the natural parks, which are located nearby. Public transport is perfectly provided. The town has the necessary facilities such as shops, a bank, a post office, a doctor, etc. The beautiful surrounding nature, and easily accessible lakes, are also an advantage.

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

There are loads to do in Habarana.

There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

Everything was fantastic and as described here. The room was spacious and pristine, with a nice view into nature, including peacocks walking around. The owner was really helpful at all times, gave us nice recommendations for the surrounding area and helped us with the buses for our day trips as well as when continuing our journey. The location of the place was nice as well, in a calm area but still in walking distance to the center of Habarana. All in all, I'd definitely recommend staying here!

Excellent natural hotel with excellent location located at the village ,extremely clean & comfortable . Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly owner Mr.Dudley He makes our trip more interesting with her advices & tips about the city , and what we can do Habarana. Best food ever had in srilanka. And lager Clean pool . Would definetely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again

This is the place to be in Habarana! Word of Italian! New guest house, really clean, spacious, silent. Its close to the centre but not too close so you can enjoy the peace at night. the owner is very helpful and friendly. He even took me with his tuk-tuk to spot elephants around and to hike in a safe jungle area. I ve got everything i needed. I stayed 2 nights and i will definitely come back. Thankyou!

What a wonderfully happy place to come back to after a hectic day of exploration in Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. My room was large, spotless, and super comfy. Together with the fantastic spread at breakfast and the chilled out common areas with live music, my stay in Habarana Village by Cinnamon was easily one of the bestest during my 21-day road trip through the island.

This hotel is a gem. Wanda and Leo have created a peaceful oasis in Habarana. They were exemplary hosts who are friendly and dedicated to making the travellers trip right for each person’s wishes.
