I recently stayed at Swell Shacks for one night and had an amazing experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The design of the hotel is simply stunning and perfectly complements the beautiful environment. I loved waking up to the sound of the ocean and having the beach right in front of our room. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The breakfast provided was delicious and offered a variety of options. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking sights. I had such a wonderful time that I will definitely be coming back in the future. I highly recommend Swell Shacks for anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. Special mention for Gayantha and Madushanka, always smiling, very welcoming and helpful, they definitely make our stay even better 😃 !

What a little paradise! The lovely host created a beautiful place to relax and feel at home. Spacious, clean and very well equipped rooms, especially considering the low prices. Also the garden is beautiful and very well taken care of. We stayed there for a week, reading at the pool and enjoying the beach, which is a 1 min walk away. Great breakfast and the restaurant offering italian dishes was a welcome change to all the rice and curry.

Talalla Bay Beach far exceeded my expectations—something I don’t say often. This is the kind of place where shoes are unnecessary, and the beach is just steps away from your room. I was lucky to stay in a top-floor room with an unrivaled view of the bay, falling asleep to the soothing sound of waves each night. The hospitality here is exceptional, radiating the warmth and authenticity of a true Sri Lankan welcome. From the moment we arrived, the host and staff made us feel completely at home. The beach itself is breathtaking—perfect for a scenic run, with sun loungers thoughtfully provided under large umbrellas. While the sea isn’t the best for swimming, it’s still great for a refreshing dip or catching a few waves. Dining here was a highlight. Thomas, the chef, owner, and host, curated an incredible menu that left us impressed, and the service was flawless. Breakfasts were equally outstanding—among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. This property is a true find, offering incredible value for money and an atmosphere of tranquility and romance—perfect for couples seeking a quiet retreat. Without a doubt, one of our best stays in Sri Lanka!

Wonderful gem in Mirissa. I ended up staying here last minute after checking out of another hotel and this place ended up being the perfect retreat, so much so that I stayed an additional night. The building is a wonderful renovated property and backs out onto the beach. Perfect for sunrise and sunset walks as well as watching the sea turtles swimming in the afternoon. The room was big and comfortable, with all required amenities. The food was delicious; breakfast and dinner with the ocean waves in the background. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Would gladly return!

I stayed at royal Villa Polhena alone and had such a lovely experience. The rooms were spotless, the staff incredibly friendly, and the location perfect just a short walk to Polhena and Madiha beaches. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and everything exceeded my expectations for the price. I’d happily recommend it to my friends who travel solo it’s safe, peaceful.
