We started our holiday here and it was great to recover from the flight, you can also go for trips, we went to the Brief Gardens which was great, but there is more to explore, so you can definitely stay longer here.

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

We booked two rooms for us and our three sons. The rooms were large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and was served on our balcony. The location was great - just a short walk from the bus, train and the beach. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed longer. Chami was very friendly and helpful as were all of the staff. We would stay longer if we could.

This was our forth or five visit to the hotel, we hadn't been in a few years and it really is just as good and well managed and kept as years gone by. The property is so well maintained, you can tell the staff are passionate about what they offer and they all pitch in to get things done. The rooms are amazing, the staff are friendly and the food was extremely good. The chef was very helpful with the dietary needs of our daughter and it was really appreciated from our side.

The staff is extremely professional and friendly, and the garden is beautifully groomed, located on the edge of a river. The food is delicious and presented artistically. I loved every moment here. We did not venture into Bentota.

We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

Stayed at Thaala Bentota recently and had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent—right by the beach with easy and direct access, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hotel itself is well-maintained with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a good variety and fresh options. Dinner buffet had fewer choices in comparison, but the quality was still decent and satisfying for the price. Overall, a very good place to stay if you’re looking for beachfront accommodation with good service and a peaceful vibe.

We stayed at Janus Paradise restaurant cabanas it was fabulous food was amazing lovely clean rooms , staff extremely helpful . Food was delicious, pool clean , we arrived during the Sri Lankan new year and was given a beautiful meal for breakfast , it was just lovely. Hotel owner Janus very nice and came to sit with us during our evening stay had a great laugh together what a wonderful host

We arrived after 4 days travelling and adventuring so were ready for a relaxing break. We enjoyed the pool at our hotel and swimming in the sea. It was a beautiful few days spent in a beautiful place. We had dinner one night at Catamaran and sat on the beach with a great mojito watching the sunset - grilled seafood was amazing. We walked the beach every day and it was so nice and we weren't bothered by people selling things. We even saw mama turtle tracks which was exciting!

Very serene, clean,natural beach. Only nature loving tourists there No crowd no hooligans Can have uninterrupted long walk, workouts yoga, any thing you woul like todo in a clean and serene natural spot.

The friendly and ever smiling staff everywhere make you happy. The room is very comfortable. Good sleep. Hoped if the sunrise was delayed !!!. The food was excellent. Obviously with a Cinnamon Brand hotel there is very little or nothing to complain. You can relax the way to wish. Although you pay a premium price it is fully worth as you return back happy.

Great hotel in a good location. A short walk to the lovely beach nearby and to neighbouring restaurants and set back from the road so very tranquil. Sanjee was an excellent host and knowledgeable about the local area.Geoffrey and his wife served a delicious breakfast every morning - fresh fruit platter, fruit juice, eggs of choice, toast and tea. The swimming pool was a good size for swimming and very clean and the pool area was lovely for relaxing. Would highly recommend - one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka.

Wonderful beach view throughout the hotel incl. breakfast area, spacious, clean a/c room with balcony, only 15 units all facing the sea. Clean, modern, larger pool! Necessary since i(at least in July) the sea is very rough and actually, dangerous. Beautiful beach, reddish sand, no people. Attentive, very friendly staff, very good breakfast, perfect as a first relaxing base after arrival in Sri Lanka, Two very good beach restaurants 5-15 min beach walk away (or a short Tuk Tuk ride).

This place is an absolute gem! I arrived here with no expectations and was stunned to find a beautiful, upmarket , immaculately clean villa, 5 minutes walk from the beach . The owner cannot do enough to make your stay memorable which included driving us to a spectacular fish restaurant in his tuk tuk. I had the best nights sleep I’ve had since being here in Sri Lanka in the most fabulous,most enormous four poster bed I’ve ever been in ! Value for money is simply outstanding!

Unfortunately we only stayed in the accommodation for three nights because we were traveling through Sri Lanka by tuk-tuk. The River Breeze Villa is absolute madness. Pradeep and his family are so incredibly nice and accommodating and try to organize everything you need. The bed was the best of our trip so far and there is even a pool that you can use at any time. There is also a great breakfast. If we are in Bentota again, we will definitely come back. Thank you so much!

A very cute property in Bentota. The resort is really amazing, worth staying. The beach is just a small walk away, crossing the rail path- which gives another wonderful experience. The food is simply amazing.. The best we had in our trip to Sri Lanka. Special mention to the wonderful Chef and all the staff for the wonderful hospitality
