We stayed one night at the Backyard Balangoda in the middle of tea plantations. We had our own cabin which was very cozy, clean and modernly equipped. We watched the sunrise on the cabin’s balcony offering a marvellous view over the mountains and tea estates. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and really tasty. The service was just oustanding. The owner is an amazing person and really helpful. We really loved staying at this place and can only recommend visiting when being in Sri Lanka. Big thumps up!

A perfect stay! The family is very kind and hospitable. The room itself is very new, spacious and sparkling clean. The bed is super comfortable, and there’s a silent yet powerful fan keeping you cool at night. Oh, and the WiFi is the best we’ve had so far - fast and reliable. Beautifully situated, among the jungle and a garden embedded in it. We arrived quite late, but despite this they waited for us and offered us dinner! The caretaker of the facility is a very nice gentleman who cares a lot about the well-being of his guests. The guesthouse is decorated in a uniform style that matches the surroundings. Every detail is thought out. The rooms are spotlessly clean, always with a view of the jungle (some, like ours, also have a balcony). In the morning we had a delicious breakfast - fruit and a chosen form of egg. It was a sufficient portion for us. In addition, coffee / tea / juice. It was wonderful for us to wake up in such surroundings and start the day like this. Although the monkeys jumped on the roof of our building, it was an additional attraction for us. I would like to visit such places more often. Hidden gems with excellent service.

The location was peaceful and serene, providing the perfect escape. The staff were exceptionally attentive, with impeccable attention to detail. The meals served during our stay were absolutely delicious and carried a nostalgic, home-cooked charm.
