We stayed for two nights and it was a fantastic time. The breakfast and dinner were super delicious and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The also organised us a safari trip to wilpattu and a very nice transfer to negombo. The hotel has a very nice pool, the place is so lovely with a very green and beautiful environment.

This was our first stop in our 10 day journey across Sri Lanka and they really set the bar very high. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The food was delicious! After a day of visiting all the historical places in Anuradhapura this hotel had the perfect atmosphere to wind down and relax. Very highly recommend!

Chaya is a wonderful hostess, who welcomed us to her home with extraordinary warmth. She made sure we are well-fed, our excursions are well-organised with very professional drivers for very reasonable prices. The house itself sits in a lovely tropical garden full of various wildlife, which was very interesting to watch. It is on the outskirts of the city, far from the noise, yet close and accessible to all the attractions. There is an outside kitchen, where all the meals are made and the cooking classes are done with an open fire and freshly grated coconuts. Definitely recommend for those who would like to get immersed in the authentic, local life, eat delicious home-made food and discover all the centuries old secrets that the city of Anaradhapura and its surroundings hold.

This has to be the best accommodation in town. The property was simply stunning. Exceptionally well run by a beautiful family who are attentive and caring to all your needs. During my stay, the property owner made several...

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia .

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

It is one of the best locations, slightly hot and humid, but if you love history and sightseeing, you cannot miss this location, further you can travel to multiple historic locations from here, we travelled to Mihinthale Temple and Mahiyangana, the drive was scenic, but Mihinthale will take your breath.

Absolutely loved our stay!

Absolutely loved our stay! The holiday home is quiet and welcoming, and the room standards are very high—spacious, neat, and nicely decorated. Everything was well organized, and the service was excellent.

The exceptional service by the staff made our time here amazing! They helped with booking our safari to Wilpattu National Park as well as transport during our time at the hotel and were generally very helpful and kind! The hotel itself is beautiful with a lovely outdoor pool area surrounded by plants. Couldn’t have been happier with our room and was the cleanest accommodation we experienced our whole time in Sri Lanka. Definitely recommend!

The location is breathtaking, nestled close to the ancient city’s iconic landmarks, making it super convenient for sightseeing while offering a peaceful and scenic environment. Our best stay in Sri Lanka so far. The hotel is very new, it opened in January 2025. Staff was very friendly and made sure that everything was taken care of. The rooms are superclean and tidy, they are nicely decorated and designed. The hotel consists of 3 villas with a very nice swimming pool. Even the food (bfast and dinner) was 5 stars. Would def stay there again.

Really good place to stay in anuradhapura. The room arrangement took us by suprise. Very spacious rooms, beautiful and clean. Friendly staff with execellent customer service skill who went out of the way to help anytime. Quite a variety of activities to keep eveyone entertained.
