This boutique hotel is top notch! So many wonderful details that made this our perfect stay: - 12 different bird sounds recorded during breakfast (we have an app) - Pool beautiful with lovely lounge chairs and shade umbrellas - EXCEPTIONAL FOOD! We ate breakfast lunch and dinner here our entire stay because it was so well done - Fresh cut flowers in the room - Full luscious live plants in the bathroom to mimic the beauty out our front patio - Large fridge and coffee and tea amenities - Luxurious stand alone tub under a sky light was well used by me - Soft full towels and bathmats - Very large room and bathroom which were both SPOTLESSLY CLEAN - CLOSE to everything one travels to Anuradhapura to see; not close to the town, but no need to go to the town - Each unit has its own koi pond with plants But the best of all was the warm and genuine service. Truly a diamond.

Everything! One of the best places we have stayed. Amazing staff who are sweet, kind and incredible personal service. Serene surroundings. The design of the villa is incredible. Very beautiful room. We had a wonderful stay at Yulawa Homestay. The rooms were very clean, and the location is perfect - close to the main sights and the Anuradhapura temple complex. Chaya was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She kindly arranged two rooms so our family could stay together and also shared great recommendations for exploring the area. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to join the cooking class, which was a real shame, as the breakfast she prepared was outstanding. There was a generous selection of fresh fruit, along with toast and eggs and delicious dhal cooked with just a gentle touch of spice for us to enjoy. The property itself is lovely, with a beautiful garden full of fruit trees. Our room was tidy, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful and welcoming stay!

A hard working young family is building their future through this guesthouse, and they are doing a great job! The place is not fully finished yet, but whatever they rent out is impeccably clean, brand new and has large, airy spaces. Mosquito repellent is provided, water preassure is good, internet works - all of this at the same time is a rare find in Sri Lanka in this price range. The food the young mother is cooking is excellent! Very suitable for western palate. Overall it is a gem!

I think the hotel was good value for money.

I think the hotel was good value for money. I liked the location- it was an easy drive to the Anuradhapura Buddhist Temple (well worth visiting at night) and to the Wilpattu Wildlife Park (also worth a visit - we were lucky enough to see a leopard!)

This is Sri Lanka's ancient capital.

This is Sri Lanka's ancient capital. It is known for its architectural genius and sophisticated irrigation network. Anuradhapura gives a glimpse of Sri Lanka's rich heritage and thus is an excellent location for the tourist to start a visit to Sri Lanka.

During my stay, the property owner made several...

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

It is one of the best locations, slightly hot and humid, but...

It is one of the best locations, slightly hot and humid, but if you love history and sightseeing, you cannot miss this location, further you can travel to multiple historic locations from here, we travelled to Mihinthale Temple and Mahiyangana, the drive was scenic, but Mihinthale will take your breath.

Our best stay in Sri Lanka so far. The hotel is very new, it opened in January 2025. Staff was very friendly and made sure that everything was taken care of. The rooms are superclean and tidy, they are nicely decorated and designed. The hotel consists of 3 villas with a very nice swimming pool. Even the food (bfast and dinner) was 5 stars. Would def stay there again.

Great hotel as a base to explore Anuratapurah. Rooms clean and comfortable. Restaurant is great value. Staff attentive and kind. The pool is magnificent. Perhaps the best part is the the number of local families who were staying here, which gives you a chance to talk to interact with Sri Lankans, rather than just fellow tourists.

We stayed here on our first night in Sri Lanka and enjoyed the confortable beds to recover from the trip. The place is really nice, a wonderful garden, rooms are spacious and clean, the family is very nice and the food was delicious! It's not in the center of Anuradhapura, but you can easily walk to the new town, 10 -15 min.

Very nice and cosy hotel in Anuradhapura. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The staff super friendly and the food very good. It was one of the best Hotels we stayed in while in Sri Lanka. The atmosphere was very calm and cozy. Would definetely stay there again. :)
