Only a handful truly stay with you and make you want to return. This place in Ahangama made it straight into our personal top 10. The stay is extremely personal and detail-oriented, with great service, a wonderful vibe, and beautiful design. And the view… wow. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is all you need. The food is creative and delicious, the coffee is amazing, and overall the value for money is outstanding. A very strong recommendation from us. If you’re coming to the south, you will not be disappointed.

We enjoyed nature surround the hotel and in the garden. Very peaceful and quiet atmosphere. There are only four rooms, so not a lot of guests and private feel. The pool is clean and big (25 m and 1,5 m deep). Breakfast were very tasty - with local fruits, coconut water, coffee/tea and whatever is asked for breakfast. On the day we went to safari, we even had early breakfast. Manager Janaka took delicate care of everything and made our stay even more pleasant.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Location is perfect, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel is very aesthetically pleasing. We had a room in the adjacent building. It was compact, on ground level without a view or balcony (you get what you pay for and the price was reflective of not having these extras), but it was all we really needed and the bed and pillows were soooo comfortable! Shower was huge and the air con worked great. The hotel is situated down a side road off the main road, so we had no issues with noise and security was present day/ night. Breakfast is also worth a mention - a large selection to choose from and absolutely delicious. The pool is small, but so is the hotel, so often you have it to yourself. Loved that this hotel was ‘adult only,’ as it made the experience very peaceful. The staff were also very lovely and attentive. A couple hotel dogs onsite which was an absolute bonus for us. We loved seeing that these dogs were cared for, allowed to lounge around the hotel in the shade and cash in on some of our brekkys!

Hashan is a great host. His hospitality and friendliness made our stay at Sanmark a memorable one. The hotel is very fairly priced. And the views you get of the ocean from the hotel are insane. My wife and I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets ever from this hotel.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

I really loved how cozy and clean the hostel was — it felt like home! The staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. The only small thing is that it can get a bit quiet at night, but overall it’s a perfect place to relax.

We actually stayed in Kabalana which is just 25 min walk or...

We actually stayed in Kabalana which is just 25 min walk or 5 min tuk tuk drive from Ahangama. It was the right decision as Ahangama was twice as busy and Kabalana beach was way better. Restaurants near us were really nice too and with the most famous night club in Sri Lanka called Trax round the corner!

Ahangama is great for surfing, restaurants and social life!

Ahangama is great for surfing, restaurants and social life! There are some weekly parties in town and a lot of solo travellers which can be met on social hostels, all around the town and at the beach. Loved Ahangama and it gave me very homey feeling, came back after seen the island a bit more!

Heaven! The location is beautiful right in the cinnamon plantation - so it’s very private The cabins are impressive - you can see the top quality of the build. The creativity and little touches made this place really special. The outdoor bathroom was gorgeous. Food and host were great! One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka Location was away from the busy town but within a good distance to access by scooter. Tuktuk around 500 to the beach. Loved it! Thankyou

This place is the one of the best in Ahangama with its location, host and definitely the breakfast. The breakfast I had here was the best I had in all Sri Lanka. The room was very comfortable and clean. The place is just 1 minute walk to the Kabalana beach. Ara the owner is the best host and he make u feel at friend’s home. I definitely recommend this place and will definitely stay again

This property is just the perfect spot, right in the middle of Ahangama amongst all the new hot spots, immaculately kept property with a gorgeous garden & private beach. The food was incredible, and the staff some of the best we have experienced in Sri Lanka. Make sure you order an amaretto sour at the rooftop bar.

The most beautiful location surrounded by nature. The room was perfect and the bathroom design was incredible. True luxury. The staff were also very lovely, friendly and super helpful. You can enjoy there Sri Lanka breakfast made from products they grown in the area. Would highly recommend.
