The property itself was amazing. The building is over 130 years old but excellently maintained. As a boutique hotel it only accommodates up to 11 guests at a time, making it a very homely experience, which we loved. The staff were absolutely excellent, going out of their way to make our stay comfortable. No request was too much, or too little. And we absolutely loved engaging with them. Situated near Nuwara Eliya it boasts some amazing views which we thoroughly enjoyed as we sat down for some tea (and it was some of the best tea we’ve had) or breakfast. As a small boutique hotel, food choices can be somewhat limited but their a’ la carte menu items, in our view, would meet most tastes. The food we ate was excellent quality with pastry items (bread, croissants, cakes etc.) made on the premises. These also were excellent.

Beautiful views, surrounding gardens with beautiful flowers and home grown veg, tea plantations, beautiful man a wife that managed the hotel and made us delicious food and looked after us. The beautiful views combined with the beautiful music they played made me cry one morning!

The best place I stayed in Sri Lanka. WiFi was actually working and it’s very fast! The host provided welcome drinks - black tea, cake, and banana when we arrived. The breakfast was super tasty. There is a very beautiful tea tree view in the back hill. Blankly was heavy enough that you don’t feel cold during the night ( weather is very cold due to the height, no AC needed)

It is in such a beautiful location. We arrived and watched a kingfisher and various birds from our balcony. The staff are great and such a bonus that they collect you and drop you off at the rail station if you provide your arrival time. There's a 200m walk from the road to the cabins and they carried our bags. We also ate there for dinner and breakfast and the food was really good. We can't fault Grounders. The room was clean and comfortable, warm showers and very peaceful. It gets cold here so bring a hoodie! We loved our pitstop here. The staff are very warm and welcoming with big smiles.
