The hotel is gem. The staff was amazing, all exceptionally helpful a nice. The room was spatious and comfortable. It was also very clean everywhere. The breakfast, and all the food in general was outstanding. Special thanks to the chef! The rooftop with the pool is a great place to chill. The interior design of the hotel is just so beautiful and carefully curated. We didn't want to go to a typical hotel that you can find in every country but some place that looked more authentic. Lao Poet definitely raised the bar high. We'd be happy to go back.

A new, exceptionally well appointed boutique hotel centrally located in downtown (if there is such a place) Vientiane. Very well priced for what it is so strongly recommend it - until the price gets hiked up! Also they own the new Chinese restaurant over the road which also was exceptional - some of the most interesting dim sum I have ever had.

Vientiane is a good place to have a night in between...

Vientiane is a good place to have a night in between travelling via the trains. Sticky fingers is a nice cafe to eat and you can get around easily on tuktuks there. Recommend only a day as Luang Prabang is amazing and you won't want to leave.

Nice and clean.

Nice and clean. Local Food at the night markets along the Mekong is relatively expensive. I suppose we were at the tourists food stalls. As for the tok tok, whilst there are prices printed on a laminated A4 it appeared high and open to negotiations. Can Laos tourist authorities ensure fixed reasonable prices. Bus fares are very reasonable and affordable. However there appeared a big discrepancy for bus fare from Vienteine Bus station to Friendship bridge (longer journey and inexpensive) compared to Bus service crossing the bridge which is so much shorter journey but so much higher in fares.

30 years ago I was last time im Vientiane.

30 years ago I was last time im Vientiane. In the meantime it has become a monster of roads, concrete and glass -fronts, just like Bangkok it has now emerged into a meaningless Chinese city.: Asians want to be Europeans who came down from Tibet many years back.

First time traveler, do stay in the city center, suggest Apollo hotel, you just need to visit 4 sites, Wat Siseket, Victory Monument, Pha That Luang (stupa) and That Dam Black stupa. (I posted all photos in my Tiktok, FYI)

The immigration authority have harassed me interrogating all...

The immigration authority have harassed me interrogating all nonsense, spoiling country's image. GoL need to think on it. They detained me for about an hour and asked me to deposit US$500 and asked me to collect during the day of departure. I got it back during my stay there as I have visited them with locals who can speak there language.

A lovely relaxing laid back city much like chiang mai, thailand. Not much in terms of nightlife - go krungthep if you want busy nightlife! Mainly monuments, Wats, museums & markets - if that is your thing... the vientienne art museum is amazing for a taste of intricate Lao wood carvings on display. Recommend to stay in central tourist area close to river and night market which caters well for foreigners. I stayed in chanthapanya hotel which was excellent location. Vientienne is still in process of development with lots of constructions in progress.

Really nice place, great living room, great bedroom, great shower. Building was clean, apartment was clean, huge refrigerator and seperat A/C for each room. New towels placed outside door each day with complimentary water. Cleaning available on request. Gas station near by if you rent wheels to get around. And both restaurant/bars and massage places within 100 meters from the hotel. Close to the city center.

The view from the room is good. I stayed in a room with a riverside view, and it had a wonderful view of the Mekong River and the town on the opposite bank in Thailand. The hotel is new, and everything was clean. The breakfast had a wide variety and was good. I stayed at several hotels in Laos, but this one was the best. (However, it was also the most expensive hotel.)

I fell ill when I arrived in Laos, and I'm so glad I chose this hotel... The hotel staff took me to the hospital and helped me find a doctor. The next day, when I approached the staff to give them a tip to express my gratitude, they said they were just doing their job and that everyone needs help sometimes. This experience will be unforgettable for me.

The Crowne Plaza is a great hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location to the night markets, restaurants, and coffee shops are all within walking distance. The breakfast was great, so many choices. I could not fault the facilities. I can highly recommend staying at the Crowne Plaza.
