Love this place and this lovely family! For sure we will be coming back! If you want to have a great experience outside Muong Ngoy (a place to goafter this lovely guesthouse Suan Phao)…. Ask Mr Joy to arrange to stay with mr Kee in Huay Bo village. Really a great experience for a night. You can walk to the village or Mr Kee can pick you up! A must go! After that: returning to Suan Phao is so great!

Our bungalow was great ... location was perfect, best breakfast, roomy, ac also offers heat (sooo important in late nov when temperatures drop at night), good wet shower. Was told october is warmer abd rice being harvested (nextvtime for us as we loooved this village..most charming during our one month travel south to north of Laos ). A nephew Jay is a tour guide and his 1 day tour with hikes and visits to ethnic villages is amazing. His company called j-walk echo adventures.

We had a wonderful two-day stay here. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay longer because the rooms were fully booked. The room was very clean and spacious, with a beautiful river view. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. The staff were extremely helpful — they organized tours for us and arranged our transportation back to Luang Prabang. I highly recommend staying here.”

Sook Village has to be the most serene & relaxing stay I’ve ever had. We wanted something that felt like it wasn’t touristy, something off the usual tourist map and this place delivered on all counts. It was so clean, comfortable and well laid. It feels like we found a gem- almost don’t want others to know about it so that it stays as a tourist secret! The bonus is the good work that we now know comes out of our staying and knowing how it is building the community up. Have already booked for next year! Stunning location!
