The location out of the city was a perfect tranquil location and well worth the short ride from the centre. What sets Villa Romduol apart for us was our amazing hosts Naret and Sarong, who could not do enough for us to make our stay memorable. We loved the very tasty home cooked food prepared by Sarong.

Very clean and nice guesthouse in Kampot. The rooms are big, super clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast there as well as rent motorbikes at good price The owner and staff are very nice and helpful! Highly recommend it!!!

We are so happy we picked this place! Only good things to report :) Very comfortable, with lovely (& large) rooms located on 2 floors around a nice swimming pool. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the centre/river (by scooter or tuktuk). But as it is out of the hustle of the town, you can hear birds and the wind in the palm trees from your window. A great place to settle and relax. We stayed 2 weeks altogether across various reservations and I do recommend spending more than a couple of nights, as there is plenty to do around (mountain, sea, river, sports, dining, pepper plantation, lake, markets, etc) and still have time to relax by the pool. We did not have time to get bored. The bed is good (neither too hard nor to soft), as are pillows. Room service is very thorough. Breakfast is good, with a variation between a-la-carte and buffet days. It can get a bit repetitive over a long stay like ours and is not especially vegetarian or vegan friendly if you don’t ask for it. But they will cater for you upon request and are looking into improving their vegetarian offer. The swimming pool is large and very clean, and long enough for laps. Best of all is the staff, including receptionist Som Moniroth, who are always doing their best to help with any situation and resolve everyday issues promptly. Overall, Hillocks is great value for money and we will definitely come back if in Kampot again.

Certainly the most charming place in Kampot. Every detail was carefully considered, the overall cleanliness was exceptional, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed a great breakfast and afternoon gin&tonic by the pool. The common area was beautifully decorated with many plants and paintings.

Great boutique hotel on the outskirts of town. The couple who run the place are super helpful and friendly. They organised motorbikes hire and recommended places to visit. There is a group of six rooms that share the main pool area with plenty of sun loungers, tables and a small bar too. We stayed in one of the two rooms that are slightly separate from the main area. These two rooms share a plunge pool and outdoor kitchen area, with lots of pits, pans, utensils, BBQ and even BBQ coal. The rooms are super modern, clean and fresh. Loads of hot water and great linen. The location is rural but close enough to the main city centre. It's easy to get a ride into town using the Grab app, takes around ten minutes and costs about $1.50. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with Stephan and Julie and wish them the best with their new business and hard work

i’ve never stayed in a nicer boutique hotel in cambodia. it’s honestly on the same level as some of the big 5* names in phnom penh, only without all the bullshit. main plus is that it’s completely new / newly renovated. no one wants anything from you. it’s spacious but only a few rooms, so no one bothers you.

This is a new property that only opened towards the end of 2024 and is located in a quiet area but only a shortish walk into the centre. The family that own the hotel are lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful when we had a minor medical issue.

in the main bar areas up to the riverside very pretty with coloured lights and French influence architecture, quiet this time of year but good deals around. resturaunt prices around 6 to 10 usd, if you want super cheap foods go to markets down further, however a little rough and dont trust many foods as exposed to heat n flies ect. so when there i pick foods freshly cooked in deep fryer to kill germs. a small meal around 50cents to 2 dollars. street food in cleaner areas ok often chicken and fish a bit dry but tasty, always need dressings and sauces to counter the dryness

We came here for kiteboarding and it turned out to be a good...

We came here for kiteboarding and it turned out to be a good decision (August). One of the family members is a keen kiteboarder and was able to organise a boat to take us out to the island at the river mouth. It is a nice laid back place with easy access to the city by tuk-tuk or in our case a hired motorbike. The staff also assisted with reasonably priced transport to/from Phnom Penh and were flexible with our needs to change the booking at short notice. It is not a 5 star resort for presentation perfection, but it is for the family friendly relationship you get here.

Kampt is a nice little town to visit to get away from the madness in Phnom Penh. It has a very laid back vibe and feels safe. Quite a few good options for dining and a wide variety of accommodations. Driving there can be a little rough but it is only 3 hours from Phnom Penh.

Enjoyed three days just outside of town.

Enjoyed three days just outside of town. We used it as a hub to visit Bokor National park, La Fontaine pepper farm and the salt flats via a scooter. The town has a nice river walkway, a cute food court area in a Central Park and a book cafe which we enjoyed. Nice kayaking area just west of town.

It was hard to see so many alcoholic older expat men living there. I did go into one of the girly bars with a friend one night and they let you drink your beer without to much bother. if you showed and interest in them of course then they would start the hustle on ya but otherwise they let you be. Usually these places are horrible with the aggressive working girls and I just leave. But it was different here.

Very relaxed city. All types of food, bars, hotels etc. People are very warm and friendly. Beautiful river setting. Plenty to keep you occupied, e.g., kayaking, visiting the Bokor national park, sitting and reading in a river side cafe, particularly up stream from the city (e.g., Champa Lodge).

Amazing location, views were unparalleled. Opening up the door in the morning straight onto a balcony on top of the river was priceless. Food was really nice too, good variety and all cooked fresh. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options too. We basically never left the hotel as the food was so good and the location stunning. Kayaks for free are available, which we used and enjoyed, and two very comfy hammocks on the balcony. This was definitely our favourite spot in Cambodia, a perfect few days spent relaxing with gorgeous river views.

We had the most amazing stay at Kampot Sweet Boutique! We had a free room upgrade for our honeymoon and the rook was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is in a serene setting surrounded by trees. The staff were very helpful and provide a free shuttle service into town pretty much any time you want! They also offer tours - we did the countryside one which was a nice day out for excellent value. Food was good and laundry service very reasonably priced.

It was a beautiful place to stay. An oasis and stylish boutique style hotel which is beautifully furnished. The owner, managers and staff are wonderful and really helpful. We felt really well cared for - best stay by far in a 5 week trip. We wish we could have stayed longer. Only place we have come across to serve decaf coffee and great choice of herbal tea . I would give it above 10 rating.

One of my favourite hotels on this trip and comfortably the best I stayed in Cambodia. A great chilled out vibe, could have stayed for months, in fact some people do. The upstairs bar does themed nights and the social atmosphere is great. Very friendly staff and an almost faultless hostel.
