This is one of my favorite hotels ever. You walk through the gate and feel like you have come to a haven of peace and beauty. The garden with the big pond is so stunning and it has a lovely and secluded pool. The buildings including restaurant and reception and terrace are made out of gorgeous reclaimed wood and the restaurant overlooks the pond and the garden . The owner Mr Kim was there personally to welcome us. He ensures that all the guests are happy and all the staff are also so lovely and helpful. Our room was also so beautiful . The food is organic, breakfast was very nice with excellent coffee different choices and they have a different Khmer three course tasting menu every evening next to the normal menu, all freshly prepared. You can walk into town (around twenty to thirty minutes) or it take a short tuk tuk ride. My son and I loved our stay at the Maison War Kor and highly recommend it.
Thank you very much to Mr Kim and his team to make our stay in Battambang so special .

This place is set up exactly the way you see it on the top view picture. A few small "houses", very clean and equipped with everything you need. Great staff, and a great selection of wines and beer. We enjoyed our stay.

Battambang is a smaller, quieter town compared to where we had been. It appears to be a fairly poor town and still coming to terms with rubbish management. We caught the boat from Battambang to Siem Reip which is thoroughly recommended if you’re able to do 7.5 hours on a very simple boat. The river villages are really interesting and the boat stops for some deliveries on the way

I LOVED THE CITY ~~~THIS IS A REPORT ON BATTAMBANG I SENT TO PEOPLE BACK HOME. Battambang (last syllable pronounced bong); what a crazy city it is. Crazy but intriguing. The roads are mostly gravel and potholes. The pavements are building debris, litter, dog poo and cars and scooters parked. The evenings it is lit up like a poorer and worse taste Vegas, music pumping out from empty bars. Hundreds gathered in groups doing a form of jazzercise, all fully clothed in regular everyday wear, no Lycra. And everyone of them looks as miserable as I would if I had to exercise. Last night I had a trip advisor recommend meal in an Italian restaurant. Divine. Gorgonzola cream sauce over meat filled ravioli and 1/2 litre of the house red. It truly was a delicious dinner. I am due to be picked up by a tuk tuk driver, taking me on an afternoon tour. We will be riding a bamboo train, no I don’t know what that is either, climbing a hill to see where thousands of people were thrown from during pol pot reign and going to watch 15 million bats fly from the trees at sunset. Yes, Battambang is crazy, intriguing and I am loving it.

You can't help but love Battambang.
You can't help but love Battambang. Battambang is underrated as a tourist destination. Travelled by train to Phnom Penh which was straight forward and very insightful. Enjoyed everything from the circus, the bat caves, the fruit farms, the bamboo train, the people. No remorks were available on Grab but really would have been welcome_ saw very few of them in the city centre.
In a house that’s over one hundred years old, we met the humanitarian photographer Joseba Extebarria who presented some of his best portraits from around the world and constructed the “HUMAN Gallery.” Furthermore, twenty percent of the proceeds go directly to the “Wings for the Future” project, supporting the education of children in the nearby town of O’mal. An amazing chap! Well worth the visit.
The only problem in the wet season is that shops shut up between 8pm and 9pm that's if they even open!

It's an ideal spot to stop by on your way to Bangkok from Siem Reap (or the other way around). The city is calm enough, albeit really cute, and you'll have some must-seen places all around if you're up for a hike or a visit in your afternoons.

We found Battambang to be very friendly and could have spent a few more days here happily. The markets are lovely, there are many excellent cafes with perfect coffee (the Lonely Tree and Heart Coffee), the atmosphere in the town centre is very enjoyable. We loved the trio of tourist attractions: bamboo train, batcave and Phnom Sampou. This was a perfect place to unwind after arriving in Phnom Penh a few days prior!

Muni hotel is simply perfect. Everything, from the very beginning and the way Lay (the owner) is welcoming you, to the very end of your stay, is absolutely top notch.
First quality furniture and equipments, and, not to forget, lots of services available (Netflix, transfers, ...).
Let me mention also Soon, the driver who was suggested and booked for us by Lay to drive us around Battambang... He is just Amazing, speaks perfect english and is super knowledgeable about the city and the surroundings.
So, long story short: BOOK HERE!
The best thing about the hotel is that even the rooms without air conditioning are quite cool with the fan.
The bathrooms are unisex, and some of them have hot showers.
The hotel-restaurant has several food and drink options.
The nearest 7-eleven is about 20 minutes away.
The location is central, so nothing is close and nothing is far. It is a good location if you plan to move around Battambang.
I needed an extra night to stay in Battambang and chose this hotel. It is a little distance from most things, though if you like quaint hotels, this is one. The room was a nice size, though the bed was a little hard for me. The pool and food were great. I would definitely stay there again
The Oh Battambang Boutique is a small and lovely hotel. The Design, the garden and the staff were just great! Also it's a project with socialimpact on vulnerable groups, so double bonus. Big recommondation from us.
