LOVED THIS ACCOMODATION it felt like switching off and going back in time The staff are amazing and so hard working and the location is stunning. I found the traditional futon a bit uncomfortable to sleep on but it was nice to try out for a night the fact that the doors to the private onsen open up so you can enjoy the breeze and scenery is wonderful as is their shuttle service

Gero has so much to share, with food, including Hida beef, yes get familiar with it. It's top level Wagyu beef and is from Hida the region that Gero is situated. The city is easy to get around in the snow (in Winter) and in the rain (in Spring), with places that are easy to walk or ride share to. Gero to most is a journey to get to with taking the trains, but it's well worth the journey, having seen cherry blossoms in the ever greens AND the snow falling like in a "snow globe", encrusting the tress, during the train ride. We are fortunate to have experienced Gero twice and now looking for a third stay, in Autumn for the changing of the leaves!

Gero is a gorgeous town in the valley in Gifu. There is a much slower pace here, incredibly friendly people. and beautiful nature. There's many nooks and crannies where you'll find interesting things, and the Gassho-mura open-air museum village is a must-see area.

I did a one day trip, I went there just because of the naturals onsen, and it was the best decision, I arrived about 10:00 at leave at the same time of the next day. Honestly I don't think is a trip for more than 3 days. Gero is a beautiful city, it has a few museums that can be seen in one period of the day. As the city is small, it doesn't need car or bus to go around if no one has fiscal disabilities. This was my second time at Japan, and I regret not going to Gero the first time as well.

As we booked breakfast our room was near the dining room, which was nice and quiet. We also had a great view of the trains crossing the bridge over the river. Our room was spacious and clean, with a nice space with chairs and table by the window. The breakfast was traditional Japanese food and was excellent. We really enjoyed the onsen and manga room downstairs.

The onsen was good... not too crowded though we felt there were so many guests around the hotel. The breakfast was quite good... a good variety of selection for both Japanese and western food. The breakfast room was packed but the staff refilled dishes so no problem with food shortages. The location was good... nice to walk around.
