A warm greeting awaited us here. Clean and new.the room is Japanese style with tatami mats and boasts a fabulous view. We had everything we needed and our host set us off in the right direction when we needed help. Highly recommend this place.

Amazing location: quiet, with a view of the lake and the hills, beautiful views to wake up to. Very easy to find. The host was very pleasant. I was stunned by how spacious the apartment was. There is a little terrace to sit on outside, and the ground floor has a co-working space with a coffee machine and a large manga collection. Definitely one of the top places I have stayed.

A fantastic stay in a beautiful ryokan. We loved every minute of it: the views into the sculptured garden, the spacious and beautifully designed room, the bath, the food, the hospitality. With just a few steps from the hotel, you access the Unzen jigoku geothermal fields.

This was a beautiful place to stay. My room was huge with a lovely view of the lake. So quiet - all I could hear were the ducks and gentle rain. The staff were very welcoming. I would have stayed longer if I could.

The room was huge by Japanese standards. They have both traditional rooms and more "modern" rooms with the ryokan look but typical double beds as you may expect in a more regular hotel. Free onsen on the premises (even some private for a small fee) that were very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and really helpful (special mention to Chihiro for her kindness). The kaiseki dinner was delicious, a true gem.

Japanese breakfast great. Location perfect (the parking place is a little separated from the hotel - not a problem, but it would be helpful to know in advance), staff very nice, and the spa fantastic. We would have loved to have the dinner too, but with two teenagers "fine dining" doesn't make much sense - the staff recommended local restaurants without any problem.

Lovely room with a beatiful view of the lake. An easy 10 minute walk to "central" Unzen. There is also a shared space with a kitchen. Hosts are very nice and helpful.

The location is superb - watching the sun set from our room was spectacular. The room was vast by Japanese standards. The hotel is quite dated but in a charming way.
