If I could give this ryokan 11 out of 10 I would do so Beautiful architecture, fabulous rooms, exquisite meals and attentive, friendly staff who manage the occasional gaffes of a foreigner with tact and humour.

This was my favorite accommodation during my trip to Hokkaido. The room was warmly decorated and well-equipped, offering a cozy stay. Especially the onsen ,it’s unbearable! The surroundings were beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and professional . I hope to visit again!

Kangetsuen is a 15-minute walk from Tokachigaoka Tenbodai Observatory and a 20-minute drive from Obihiro Station.

The hotel was of exceptional architecture and design. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The onsen was outstanding. The food was very good indeed. The hotel was in a good position for driving out the various national parks in the region

Had a great stay here. Rooms are great and tight so they're well warmed. Loved the onsen/sento which offer two different rooms, one indoors and a second one with open roof. Breakfast was very enjoyable, for a excellent price. Very close to the station (less than five minutes walk distance).
