Firstly, wow! The drive up to the house was absolutely beautiful and set the tone for a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, the home felt incredibly cozy and welcoming—truly like a home away from home. The river running alongside the property added to the peaceful atmosphere and offered stunning, tranquil views. The hosts were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond by preparing a delicious home-cooked meal for our family upon arrival. The fireplace was already lit, creating a warm and inviting space, and the outdoor spa was hot and ready for us to enjoy. We were lucky enough to experience snowfall on our second day, which made the stay feel truly magical. I cannot recommend this home highly enough and would absolutely suggest it to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing family getaway.

This house is beautifully designed and equipped, very comfortable and fun for the kids when they can explore every corner. The view when you have bbq at the garden at dawn… spectacular! Tetsuji-san is very helpful, informative and prepared the house so well for us. Thank you Tetsuji-san so much.

Great location. Near to the station and places of interest. Staff is knowledgeable and communicate well in English, with an international line up of front desk staff. Spacious room and I like the wood craft and furniture mix. Not least, adjacent to one of the best hida beef restaurant in Takayama.

Location was fairly near the JR Takayama Station. A bus station is also nearby. Restaurants are a walking distance. I really liked their initiative to put together a tourist guide for Takayama which can be found in the lobby. The guide was very comprehensive in suggesting activities, destinations and food to try during your stay in Takayama. Twin Room was also fairly large for a Japanese Hotel. Facility was clean and would definitely stay here again. Staff has been really helpful, warm and accommodating.

We loved our stay at Hotel Wood Takayama and it would be a dream to return one day!. The room was peaceful and relaxing. The breakfasts arrived like a boxed present, so gorgeous. We couldn’t get over the free sake, beer and drinks during the evenings, amazing! The location is the best, a family mart is nearby and it’s within walking distance of everything that the old town has to offer, shops and dining. I hope we can return one day.

The building is newly opened. The interior is very nice. They offer complementary dango and drinks. They have parking on site made everything convenient. The room was comfortable and clean. I love that they had Onsen and allow people with tattoo to use it. Although it was a bit crowded.

This was our best room during our 10 days family trip in Japan. It says 2 bed room apartment, but in reality you have a complete apartment: 2 bed rooms with each 2 double beds + living room with another sofa bed that could takes 1-2 people, so it was spacious. Full kitchen, washing machine (free with detergent, drying). 10-15 minutes walk from Takayama JR station, for check in yes you need to go to nearby Wat Hotel and reception staff was very helpful despite language issue. For car driver, they even provide a free parking lot. Highly recommended.
