My wife left her Hoka shoes at the hotel. Although The Villa informed us about this very promptly, we were unable to pick up the shoes because we flew home the next day. However, for a very reasonable fee, they agreed to send the shoes to us in Germany. Dear Villa team, thank you very much for this. The service at the hotel was first-class, the food was delicious, and the beer from the tap in the rooms was unique and excellent. All in all, a very nice stay and absolutely recommendable.

My room was spacious and very comfortable, making for a great stay. I also appreciated the Business Hotel perks, such as complimentary coffee and beverages. The hotel is just a short bus ride from Shizuoka Station, and free onsite parking is available—perfect if you're planning to rent a car (which I highly recommend to fully explore the area). The staff were exceptionally friendly and always helpful whenever I had questions.

Shizuoka is a hidden gem.

Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

Shizuoka's shinkanesen train station is packed full of interesting shops and restaurants. We absolutely loved browsing as we waited for our train. Our visit in Shizuoka was much too short. I would have like to walk through the park (Sumpu) Walk through the city and explore more of the department stores. We got to see a local tea farm but it would have been great to visit more. We tried Sushiro which was really fun and delicious and better than most of the sushi restaurants in Montreal.

For those whose hobby is into plastic modelling, the city of Shizuoka is considered the model city of Japan. There is the annual Shizuoka hobby show that is held in the second week of May and is one of the biggest model show exhibitions in the world so hobbyist will not be disappointment.

We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in.

We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in. My friend is fluent in Japanese but even she was having trouble making the staff understand even small things. It’s a love hotel. Very disturbing. Sextoy magasine, prostitute magasine, locked doors that only open when you call and ask the staff to open the doors. Staff that didn’t understand. Making me pay for two rooms when giving us just one room.

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city...

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city with a country feel. I love Shizuoka and of course, that big mountain is always visible in the near vicinity when it's not hanging with its cloudy mates.

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for...

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for travelers who look for a more relaxing location. It was not full of tourists like you would expect seeing in Tokyo. But this also means that not everything is written or explained in english. Shizuoka is a perfect stay location when you want to visit locations like Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Mishima or similiar (so places you would usually pass with a shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

I'm so satisfied with the location, it‘s nearby the shimizu station(5 minutes by walking). And it's very close to the しみずこう，the place to enjoy seafood, just 10min by walking. The reception is very nice and full of passion, help me to deposit the luggage. The room is very clean, although it's a bit small but enough to sleep. I love the breakfast, very traditional Japanese food. I recommend this hotel because of its high performance-price ratio.

Wonderful ryokan experience, with very helpful and attentive staff. The futon were some of the comfiest I've ever slept on, and the breakfast was a real feast. The Japanese garden and general atmosphere of the inn were very relaxing. Very close to views of Mt Fuji from the beach (if there aren't too many clouds).

Great little hotel with a big breakfast mostly traditional Japanese food. Happy hour with sake ,Udon ,curry n rice and popcorn was included. Shuttle van to the station when we left ,was complimentary.It was clean, with bigger rooms than we expected. Lovely staff who helped us find places and comfy beds.

Great value for money, larger than normal Japanese hotel rooms, a few minutes (6-8 minutes) walk from the Shizuoka train station. Nice service, the breakfast was included for us (otherwise at 1000 yen per person) and you may choose between western style and Japanese style.

The location next to Shizuoka Station and bus terminal was great. Besides convenience stores (one at the hotel entrance) a supermarket and many eateries were within walking distance. It was very convenient. The room was very clean.
