- The property is new, clean and comfy. - The room and bed are quite big with some space for big luggages (although 2 pax in). - Also like about power outlets which are quite a few more than typical hotel/ resort in Japan. This was the nicest stay ata hotel I have had in Japan, and one of my top stay experiences ever - and I travel a lot - over 100 countries so far. The room was impeccable - traditional yet comfortable for Westerners, with Westen style beds, with a lovely view. The private onsen was designer standard - wouldn’t be out of place in an interior design magazine- and unbelievable view over the river. The food - unbelievable - all local ingredients and even the liquor on offer either home made or local - simple but tasting fantastic. And perhaps the best part are the staff - a true family business and everyone so kind and helpful. Felt like staying with friends rather than a commercial property. I can’t recommend it enough. Simply world class.

A simple homely accommodation. The owner is one of the most thoughtful host that carefully penned down the things to do (with clear English instructions with photos) in Shirakawa-go. There is a communal area where we can prepare food. The host has also left us some for us to eat and they are all FOC! There is even a washing machine with detergent that allows my family and I to do laundry after a few days on the road. Totally love this property!
