The CrossFit Tiny House was a charming little abode in the outskirts of Iya Valley. Connected to a well stocked CrossFit gym, it provided us with everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen, clean and comfortable bathing facilities, cozy sleeping and a peaceful environment to use as a base to explore the valley for a few days. We also participated in a mobility class in the gym free of charge as guests of the house and the owners were kind and helpful 🙂

What an amazing place. Nestled in the forest, with sweeping views across the valley. We stayed as part of a honeymoon trip to Japan and this was a highlight. Yancy was the perfect host, making us feel welcome, comfortable and taking us for a bike tour of the local community. Keep it up!

The house is amazing. my wife and I loved the design and the minimalistic yet cozy style. The location is perfect if you have or rented a car since public transportation in the area is limited. There are many incredible rivers, water falls and trails in the area. The house was really comfortable and super clean. We loved our stay in this place. Iya Valley is around 1h30 from the house by car.

Tipical ryokan Accommodation in the Nature. Our host was really nice and amazing chef. The dinner and breakfast were so delicious. We have really nice stay and would come again.

This was a it out of the way. Not attractive from the outside and fairly basic inside but perfectly comfortable. We were warned that there was no shopping nearby but more specific information would have been useful to allow us to visit store first.

We loved our stay at the star lodge. We were made to feel very welcome and our room was perfect, set out with futon beds on tatami mats. The communal areas are large and there is a lovely heated low table area where you can sit and warm up. We ate at the lodge and had the chef’s special set meal on the first night, it was delicious and just as good as any top restaurant we’ve eaten in. We had breakfast too and it was tasty and filling. There are public onsen on site, which were great. It was quiet, so we had them to ourselves. We even got to see the moon on our last night through the large telescope onsite. There are plenty of walks around the lodge, some can be steep, but ok if you’re fit. The road to the lodge is narrow and windy, so would recommend doing it in the daylight.

Fabulous place, everything was so thoughtfully put together. We BBQ'd on the open terrace - a really special night. View of the river in the morn was breathtaking.

The proprietress of the ryokan was super friendly. The breakfasts and dinners were an amazing way to start and end the day. The ryokan is near the vine bridge and once you exit the ryokan, you see the lush greenery of Iya valley. The toilet was very clean, and the room was comfortable.
