It was walkable from Motomachi Port. I stayed at the dorm style room, so I had to share with other people, but they all were respectful ladies, and I had no problem. The room was new and sparking clean. The fridge, kitchen, and coffee marker were in the common room, and we could store our luggage after the check-out time. I stayed for a specific even on the island, so I didn't have much time to spend for other activities, but when I go back next time, I would definitely want to try the sand spa!

The hotel is located rather close to the port, bus stop and supermarket. Rooms are big enough and comfortable. Traditional Japanese breakfast was excellent. Stuff was so kind. Price is resonable. We wish to use the same hotel again.

We had a wonderful stay at 島の宿近〜KON〜! The host was absolutely lovely and so easy to communicate with. She checked in with us on the morning of our departure to confirm when we would be arriving so she could meet us at the airport on time. On the way to the property she told us all about the island and even made a stop at a local grocery store so we could pick up some basics for our stay. She also helped us make reservations at a restaurant near the property and arranged for us to have a barbecue at the house on our last night. The property was beautiful, secluded and fully equipped (including e-bikes!). Would happily visit again!

Would rate this a 12/10 if I could. The place has been nicely renovated but still has much of the old charm. The colours used make it modern, vibrant and inviting. Our host was kind and welcoming. And the place offered anything we needed and more (Oshima island is lovely!). The town is easily accessible via public transport and the place is a short 5-7min upward walk away from the busstop of habu port. Apparently the place next door sells oshima brewed ipa's but there were out during our visit.
