Beautiful and close-up view of the sea and kamiiso no tori! The hotel also gives access to the ofuro at Hotel Oarai, which provides a sea view while relaxing in the pool~ Breakfast was hearty and yummy, and staff were helpful too! Hotel was also right outside the bus stop

People go to oarai to pilgrimage for GuP. Was the cheapest and closest to the town center. Place being clean, quiet and cozy was a huge bonus. The caretaker, nobita was a cool dude for helping me out.

Completely in love with this place, sadly it was just an overnight stop for me. It is exactly what it looks like from the photos: a traditional Japanese house, freshly refurbished, with I believe 3 rooms (might be 4). The self check-in at the door might look intimidating but it's fast and well explained, just make sure you have internet and follow the instructions (you'll get the link in your messages before you arrive anyway). The area is lovely, you have combini, a cute cafè, restaurants and the station is less than 5 minutes away. You can also walk to the fish market in about 15mins and have a fantastic meal. My room felt really cozy and I was so sad to leave. Also, I've read some comments saying it's hard to find (it is indeed behind another set of houses so you need to walk around them) but in my case if you put the exact address on Google Maps the pin matched the house perfectly.
