We wanted to experience a traditional Japanese property in a rural area which is exactly what we got. The place was huge - you get the whole proprty to yourself The hosts Nikki and Diaki (who live in the house next door) were fantastic and communication in English was not problem. On one of the nights they took us to the local craft beer bar - Noh Land Brewery - the beer was excellent. There weren't any restaurants nearby but there is a small shop next door which was excellently stocked with all sorts of fresh fish and meat. The kitchen had everything needed to cook a meal. You ideally need a car as it is a little remote but it was the perfect base for exploring the Southern Japenese Alps area and the Magome-Tsumago trail. We stayed in Nov and it was besutiful and it must be a great place in the summer as it has a lovely terranced area and a small stream in the garden. We had a wonderful experience and the perfect break whilst travelling between Tokyo and Kyoto.

The room is surprisingly big and well equipped. Massage chair, microvawe, AC, hair dryer, fridge, huge TV, kettle, bathroom with towels, cups... You can take a free toothbrush, bubble towel, hairbrush, cotton stick. The duvet is fuwa fuwa (soft, thick but light).you also get a free frozen meal which you can heat up. Privacy is a given as you don't really have neighbours. There are multiple good restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

This old multigenerational property has been very well looked after. It respects its past but has all the luxuries of the present. We especially loved the kotatsu. The attention to detail was phenomenal and our host was very lovely and kind. We wished we stayed longer

Lovely clean house with view off the rice fields! 30 minute drive to Magome-Juku and 38 min to Tsumago town by car, which is ideal. Owners have great communication, would definitely recommend this great stay!! 😄👍🏼
