I simply adored everything: the building is very beautiful, sophisticated and cozy. The renovation of the building, using so much wood, if just incredible. The room was very comfortable, with a comfortable bed, nice table for the computer and also nice sofa to read. The restaurant had very soft and nice music and the meals were simply delicious: they were always different, using local and sometimes wild products, like flowers. The staff was very helpful and sweet.

Perfect ryokan in remote Japan. The experience was beyond expectations. The shrines in the area are superb! Everything was perfect and the hostess was very helpful. The food is amazing (but there's too much!)! The ryokan can be easily access by car from Nagano. It is a 35min scenic drive. I suggest nissan-rent-a-car right next to the train station. Everything went smoothly.

Size of the room is bigger than I expected. Probably the biggest I has ever stayed during my holidays in Japan. Room facilities were excellent and hotel location within walking to the Nagano station. Overall, its huge lobby with ample sitting certainly justify its Grand status. Lastly, not forgetting the excellent front desk reception services.

Beds were very comfortable. Room was spacious for a Japanese hotel. Many toiletries and varieties of beverages were provided. Could leave luggage and wait in the foyer prior to checking in. Paid parking was available for our car. Located close to the train station, restaurants and shops.
