The team at Tokitotoki made sure that we would never want for anything - absolutely every request was met with kindness, warmth, and consideration for us. They even knew which dishes were our favorite by the end of our stay! The staff have a high degree of English understanding, and are so lovely to speak with. It was also very nice to see both Japanese and foreign guests in the mixed lounge-style dinners. It was the perfect mix of privacy with the option to converse with others if you desire. Everyone was respectful of the space due to the thoughtful design. The room was beautiful and had sliding doors and shoji for the window area to allow beautiful control of light and comfort. We took full advantage of the buffet and endless drinks during our stay, and Tokitotoki always had delightful snacks and refreshments available to restore you from the heat of the day. There was a wide variety of options to suit every palate. Tokitotoki will always have a special place in our hearts :) Thank you for your hospitality - we are restored in both body and mind. We hope to return to Tokitotoki for a future trip.

The view was incredible, made sure to wake up early to see the sunrise on the lake Onsen is very nice and they sell tattoo patches if you have small tattoos that need covering. If you have a lot of tattoos, it's about a 20 min drive to a tattoo-friendly onsen town Room was a nice combination of traditional and modern as there were Western beds but also a tatami room. Lots of amenities in the room, bathroom was also lovely. Staff are very polite and helpful (I forgot my earbuds and they are posting them to me) Good option for a couple get-away, would happily go back again

This was an outstanding experience! It was the best service we’ve ever had at a hotel, we truly relaxed and had the best time. The views are breathtaking. It’s unbelievably beautiful and cosy. We had such a lovely stay. Dashki helped us with booking dinner every evening which we needed as we had no idea where to go! Excellent for getting to Kinosaki really easily and then Kyoto after. Beautiful accommodation and extremely comfy beds. It was great we could use the lounge of the sister hotel to have a drink in the evening.

I chanced upon Kumihama and the Waterside Cottage Heron, as it wasn't in my destination initially and it's not in the usual list of sights to visit. It's a little town by the Bay of Kumihama - deserted (compared to other places I've been), quiet & simple. Yet, I must say that I enjoyed my time the most here! Etsuko-san made me feel so welcome and at ease during my stay here. The room and premise beside the water canal were so serene, peaceful and therapeutic. She cooked dinner and breakfast for me - with impeccable service and taste, and deep thoughtfulness; she handwrote the meal courses in English for me and kindly introduced each dish for me. I really look forward to each meal time and enjoyed the casual conversations! The next day, she recommended me to use the in-house bicycle (battery powered) to cycle round the Bay - it was such a breeze cycling and pleasure exploring the Bay and also stopping by the Jersey Farmhouse for a nice ice-cream! Oh, and her dog, Leo, was so friendly and he gave me a lick before I checkout. Thank you so much, Etsuko-san for making me feel so at home. I'm truly glad that I made it here and I hope to visit again.

The location is very good, very close to station and town. The gimmick of foot onsen in front of the cafe is so cute!! This hotel is minimal style with cute design and clean. Room size is wide and suitable for 3 people. The rooms are private, not too close to others. The staffs are so kind. The price is reasonable. It's included breakfast without any charge. There are delicious coffee with a set of bread, salad and sausages as breakfast set. The hotel provides ukata for all guests which we can wear to outside onsen and the town. The umbrella is available for guests too.

Staff are lovely, the room was very big and comfortable and there was a lot to do nearby. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the water. It looks brand new inside. Our room was even nicer than the room photos on booking.com. Plenty of parking right outside. The cafe is not open every day but it is not far to the shops. It was quiet and peaceful.
