Because a typhoon wiped out some train tracks, this place is hard to get to. But WOW. Eat like royalty, soak in a hot spring, take a glorious hike, and repeat. Phenomenal.

Hayashi was a fantastic host, the accommodation was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed and had everything we needed. After Tokyo, this was the perfect relaxing and peaceful change we needed. The sauna and plunge pool were incredible - the most beautiful sauna I’ve ever used. We wish we’d booked for longer three Nights was not enough. The irori room experience was so much fun, and sensational value for money. Thank you Hayashi and family, you made us feel so welcome and looked after, while we still felt we had privacy and freedom. Amazing - don’t hesitate to book this!!

A classical old-style japanese house that I had all for myself, humble living but matching the descripotion and has a good vibe. Very friendly and helpful host that welcomed me, recommended activities for my free day, arranged a visit to a neighboring tea farm for me, and even very helpfully drove me to the train station when I was leaving. Might be less comfy in winter for someone but the heating was fine for me. Would stay again anytime!

There are not many accommodation options near Kanaya or Shin-Kanaya stations, and we were lucky to find this ideal little place! Very clean and neat, and just a five minute walk from Shin-Kanaya, where we took a sightseeing train on the local Okigawa train line. We loved our stay here!
