Hotel is really close to the Hirosaki station. Because they have a standars how the rooms looks like, once you have been to one of the hotels, you meet the same standard in the others as well. What differs is breakfast, which is great, as if you travel more regions, you will come across different tastes. During my stay a packed obento was served, but there was a variant of different boxes to choose of Personal is was really young, but at the same time really professional and helpful. We could solve an issue even through language barier.

We visited Hirosski to view the Castle and the Rice Paddy...

We visited Hirosski to view the Castle and the Rice Paddy Art. These are both easy to visit. We were delighted to find that it is the apple centre of Japan and this was well reflected by the information available and the cartoon characters at the station.

The host, Akira, greeted us with a glass of their local...

The host, Akira, greeted us with a glass of their local apple juice (from their neighbor actually). It was a nice surprise! The house is located on a nice and quiet neighborhood and is surrounded by apple orchards. Since this is a home stay, towels aren’t included but you can request them for ¥100 per person. They offered to change the sheets after 3 days but we declined. Akira’s wife, Yo’ne, even took stride to learn how to ask “Did you have a good night’s sleep” in our language. She stated that she does that for every international guests they have. It was nice personal touch. If you plan to stay here, you’ll need a car as it’s about 15 minutes from the city center. However, the Go app (Japan’s version of Uber) works fine albeit a little pricier than the big cities. Other than that, we had a very lovely stay.

A lovely city that takes pride in their history, agriculture...

A lovely city that takes pride in their history, agriculture, and festivals. I greatly enjoyed my walk around Hirosaki castle and the surrounding park/gardens. While I might have arrived slightly too early for the famed Cherry Blossoms, I was able to experience the festival that had already begun in earnest. It is very evident that Hirosaki is the apple capital of Japan. Every consumable that can be made from apples was available and each one that I sampled was delightful.

Good hotel, easy check-in and parking across the road. Quick elevators to higher floors and good views from both sides, all rooms. Great breakfast up high on 13th floor. Good location near castle and a huge park.

Hirosaki is excellent option as a base to explore north...

Hirosaki is excellent option as a base to explore north Tóhoku. Very close to Iwaki-san, very close to Aomori city, very close to Ódate (Akita Inu centre). Excellent apples and okonomiyakis, juicy corn on Iwaki-san, spelndid Hirosaki castle! Very laid back and relaxed city but still many options to be entertained or go shopping. Look no further if you wish calm and relaxed but still sufficiently equipped base for your travels.

I liked the inn's onsen, the salmon and natto breakfast and Oyoko-don for dinner. Food were delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy to get to the inn by taking the Dotemachi bus from the Hirosaki bus interchange which is in front of the Hirosaki train station. I just needed to walk two to three minutes to reach the inn from the Shitadotemachi 1 bus stop.

Breakfast was excellent. The location was difficult for us as we were tourists in Japan travelling by train. This hotel is difficult for people who don’t have a car. However the hotel managers took us to the convenience store our first night and drove us into town to the park the next day which was extremely kind and much appreciated.

I like Dormy inns with onsen, coffee and apple juice in the lobby also welcome treats in the restaurant 3pm to 6pm. This particular property is a little old with real keys.Quite close walking distance to Hirosaki castle.Quiet, comfortable bed.
