The hotel seems to be very new and everything feels just right. It starts with the tatami mats on the whole hotel area which is walkable without shoes and it ends with the very nice onsen on the 13th floor. You have two big onsens and 7 private onsen baths which are "first come, first serve". But no worries, you will find a free bath quite fast. During the waiting time, you can enjoy free ice cream, massage chairs or mangas (jp only) with a great view over beppu. The hotel is worth every yen you will spend and the hot onsen water baths are the cherry on the top. Definately recommend to stay here👍.

The hotel is located in a semi retired area from the street and noise, surrounded by a forest. The design is modern, stylish and somewhat mixes perfectly the Japanese identity and way of living. The staff is helpful and welcoming, which was very appreciated, they offered guides and advice to experience better the city and its services. The breakfast served in the morning, also not in a cafeteria, but in the room, is of great taste and quality. We were very pleased to have it to start the day before heading to spa and onsen around the city.

If you want to really feel like you are within an "onsen...

If you want to really feel like you are within an "onsen town", this could be the best in all of Japan. The view from the castle has you looking out over countless steam stacks, each indicating a spot with an onsen. Natural hot water flows through all of the city's drainage. Everyone seems to be relaxed and moving just a little more slowly. The whole city smells like an onsen right when you leave the train. It is a surreal city to be in and definitely worth visiting if you are spending any amount of time in Kyushu. The best onsen is "Hyotan Onsen", it is near the "7 Hells" and is something I will remember for my whole life!

Beppu has a lot to offer.

Beppu has a lot to offer. Our highlight was Takasakiyama Natural Zoological Garden. Watch about 900 Japanese macaques roam freely and interact with one another. They come down from the mountain, and you are in immediate proximity with them. A very ethical 'zoo'. We spent 2.5 hours there in amazement. It is set in a beautiful environment.

We loved three destinations in Beppu - Firstly, 'The Hells'...

We loved three destinations in Beppu - Firstly, 'The Hells' - 7 natural hot springs bubbling out of the Earth - in different, natural colours, depending on the mineral content! Spectacular! Secondly, the Kunisaki Peninsula. Takes a day to drive around or book a tour (operating only on Saturdays and Sundays). (Leaves from the train station.) Well worth it! You can book it via the Tourist Office - at the main rail station. Thirdly, take an ordinary, public bus (from the train station) up to Yufuin - an hour, picturesque trip, well worth it! Gorgeous mountains to see, and walking in the valley, up there - to a nearby, pretty lake.

The natural scenery is incredible and there are a surprising amount of attractions for a town its size. I really enjoyed every onsen I tried too. Public transit was not as good as other areas I went, but still plenty workable.

Probably worth renting a car to see the area since the transit isnt so great as the other big cities and you'll be waiting a while between activities to wait for a bus or train. Otherwise we found excellent food options and bars in Beppu. Oita was a close stop as well which brought some more options.

The seven hells is the main attraction I guess.

The seven hells is the main attraction I guess. As I understood, the springs are originally natural springs, but they have since been developed into quite - how should I say - managed sites. To accomodate such a large number of visitors, this has been a must I guess. Only visited two of the hells to get the point and definitely did not choose to visit the crocodile one based on some criticism on the conditions of the animals. Steam cooking our own meal was an interesting experience and visiting a local onsen was quite naturally a must-do in Beppu, both of which I recommend.

For first-time visitors to Beppu, this is a fabulous location a very short distance from the train station. Downtown is incredibly accessible, along with the many interesting little side-street areas. Beppu is however, extremely interesting a distance away; if visiting for vacation, a car and a few days would be recommended. The sento in the photos is actually in the building next door, and the facilities are good for a hotel -- though I would recommend heading to the actual onsen across the street for a more authentic experience!

Great location near establishment and walking distance from the station and major attractions like beppu Tower. There's a mall nearby too and it's near takegawara onsen. Very comfortable facility. Nice traditional Japanese themed rooms. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was clean and classy looking. Amenities are complete (even kitchenware and kitchen) and there's also free use of washing machine. Its like a clean top class apartment converted to a hotel room! Really nice! Hassle free check in and check out too!

We loved this tiny simple hotel! It is just next to the famous Beppu onsen, close to supermarket and the main street with all the hells. Just a superb location and traditional Japanese tatami and futon bedroom. The accommodation is very basic but the staff makes it exceptional but patiently explaining jigoku cooking and even renting dishes and recommending times. The guy should get a raise, what an absolute hero! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our Beppu stay unforgettable.

Breakfast is ok but if you are in Japan, you may find some local coffeshops with awesome coffee and sandwiches. However, this hotel is fine for this money (not expensive) and managers there are really great. They also have Onsen (Japan sauna) and I really enjoyed it. If you are planning a trip to Beppu, you should defenetely choose this hotel.

Very near to Beppu station. Lotsa free stuffs like ramen, coffee, ice cream, Yakult, etc. Room is spacious and amenities are complete. No shoes in the hotel as all shoes are put in lockers at the entrance. In-house onsen is good.
