I appreciated that the separated bath rooms with open air did not require any reservations. The free icecream and mango pudding were also a very pleasant surprise. The decor was very nice and everything was very clean.

This hotel is great. It is located right next to Beppu Station, that's really convenient for sightseeing. Also there is a lot of small restaurants around the place. You can choose your own pillow during check-in. Onsen for women is small, but it was pretty and clean, also there were 5 treatments for women to choose from every day and I loved their moisturizing face mask. Really good quality. Room was small, but really nice.

The first time to stay at a Daiiti Hotel and we were pleased with all aspects of the facility and especially the staff. The breakfast was great. They even provided shoe dryers which we needed after the torrential rain. Shoe dryers a first for us.

If you want to really feel like you are within an "onsen...

If you want to really feel like you are within an "onsen town", this could be the best in all of Japan. The view from the castle has you looking out over countless steam stacks, each indicating a spot with an onsen. Natural hot water flows through all of the city's drainage. Everyone seems to be relaxed and moving just a little more slowly. The whole city smells like an onsen right when you leave the train. It is a surreal city to be in and definitely worth visiting if you are spending any amount of time in Kyushu. The best onsen is "Hyotan Onsen", it is near the "7 Hells" and is something I will remember for my whole life!

Beppu has a lot to offer.

Beppu has a lot to offer. Our highlight was Takasakiyama Natural Zoological Garden. Watch about 900 Japanese macaques roam freely and interact with one another. They come down from the mountain, and you are in immediate proximity with them. A very ethical 'zoo'. We spent 2.5 hours there in amazement. It is set in a beautiful environment.

We loved three destinations in Beppu - Firstly, 'The Hells'...

We loved three destinations in Beppu - Firstly, 'The Hells' - 7 natural hot springs bubbling out of the Earth - in different, natural colours, depending on the mineral content! Spectacular! Secondly, the Kunisaki Peninsula. Takes a day to drive around or book a tour (operating only on Saturdays and Sundays). (Leaves from the train station.) Well worth it! You can book it via the Tourist Office - at the main rail station. Thirdly, take an ordinary, public bus (from the train station) up to Yufuin - an hour, picturesque trip, well worth it! Gorgeous mountains to see, and walking in the valley, up there - to a nearby, pretty lake.

The natural scenery is incredible and there are a surprising amount of attractions for a town its size. I really enjoyed every onsen I tried too. Public transit was not as good as other areas I went, but still plenty workable.

Probably worth renting a car to see the area since the...

Probably worth renting a car to see the area since the transit isnt so great as the other big cities and you'll be waiting a while between activities to wait for a bus or train. Otherwise we found excellent food options and bars in Beppu. Oita was a close stop as well which brought some more options.

The seven hells is the main attraction I guess.

The seven hells is the main attraction I guess. As I understood, the springs are originally natural springs, but they have since been developed into quite - how should I say - managed sites. To accomodate such a large number of visitors, this has been a must I guess. Only visited two of the hells to get the point and definitely did not choose to visit the crocodile one based on some criticism on the conditions of the animals. Steam cooking our own meal was an interesting experience and visiting a local onsen was quite naturally a must-do in Beppu, both of which I recommend.

Location was super practical, short walk from station. Easy to go to station bus stops or train station as well as buses to other parts of beppu (although i couldnt figure buses so well but thtat is not about the hotel). There was an onsen in the hotel which was good for the price and the room was ok size for me. Super beautiful view from my room as it was a bit higher could see beppu city and the mountains a little bit

The hotel seems to have been partially renovated and has very nice sea view, onsen is also very nice on top floor, with pool outside as well. Room was very big and had a private big bath, with natural spring water, after all Beppu is capital of onsens. There was a convenient parking place by the hotel for an additional fee, but not expensive.

Excellent hotel with very large room and exceptional view. Only a few minutes from beppu station and the beach, the hotel is also close to all entertainment and shopping. I love the rooftop pool and the onsen with amazing view. Also the facilities are modern and they let guests choose their own free yukata during stay

Good location. Check in was swift. Breakfast range pretty good. Staff were courteous- front desk and at Bfast dining. Onsen was welcoming after the long drive from Hataka. Good stopover hotel. Just 1 min walk from Beppu Tower too.

Great location, very closed to the Beppu stn, and u can easily connoted to bus platform to Beppu Ropeway and Hell of Beppu. Surprisingly there's a nature onsen in the hotel. Breakfast was good
