This is a fantastic historic building, excellent renovated, and well kept by the wonderful host. Villamar is an authentic small town in the inland. We came for the feast of the saffron in neighbouring Turri at the beginning of November, and just stayed one night. We'd happily stay at DiamanteSardo again, and do recommend it. Oh, I almost forgot: we slept like children in very comfortable beds, and calm surroundings.

Absolutely fabulous place especially if you like historic artefacts, and amazing decor. It was like staying in a museum so beautifully preserved but with a clean modern bathroom and a kitchen where Nicola has laid out breakfast for you. The apartment is much bigger than it looks in the photos. It is very clean, parking provided, easy to walk everywhere in town, a bar and wonderful restaurant just a very short walk away. The surprise was that a few hours before check in we received an email requesting a photo of document (passport for us) and a long detailed form to be filled out including making a selfie. Then we received the code for the lockbox. It would have been nice if we had been told a day earlier that this was coming as we do not use cellular when traveling in Europe, just happened to use restaurant WIFI at lunch, and found the email. Also, there is no number 3 at the property, there is a number 1 to the left of the lockbox. The agent insisted there was a 3, we looked everywhere and there was no number 3.

I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Tonina and the team at the hotel. They looked after my colleagues so, so well and noting was too much trouble. Their communication was amazing, and made the process so much easier - especially when managing things overseas. The hotel itself was exceptional, and the team were so comfortable. The views were incredible and the food excellent. I would highly recommend this gem to anyone who's looking for an authentic stay in Sardinia!
