We had to make an unexpected overnight stay in Ventimiglia as there was a railway strike. Most of the hotels near the station were fully booked. We stumbled upon Sole Mare and immediately booked as the price and inclusion of breakfast made it a great deal for our family of four. The location and views were amazing, the beach and restaurants were across the road from the hotel - which provided something for us to do for the afternoon. The staff were the friendliest people we had met in Italy, and the breakfast and service were a real treat. The hotels decor is also so beautiful.

This was a little oasis in a long journey. Just a few minutes walk from the train station we arrived late at night and left early. The room was airy, we even had a terrace, the shower was excellent, comfortable bed and space for our large dog. We just loved it and wished we were staying longer to enjoy the beautiful room. We were provided with a "little breakfast" but didn't have it as we left quite early ( I think my husband ate the nutella though). The welcome was warm and efficient from Christine, check in and out was easy. We loved it, thank you so much. On an aside, there is a cafe opposite the train station where you can get coffee, orange juice and patries etc. and a small supermarket on the corner.

Excellent location: right at the beach and beautiful views from the room as well as right in the centre of town. Very helpful and friendly staff. The room was cosy and spacious & the interiors of the building very tasteful and exquisitely italian. Another thing I liked about this accommodation was that you have easy access to the breakfast room from your bedroom and hence, access to the coffee maker there. So, you can grab a cup of coffee, take it to your room and drink it there in peace while enjoying the view from your window. Total bliss.

it is a historic town with old buildings, au on a heel, like a fortress. Unfortunately the buildings are not renovated and most of them look pretty bad. Otherwise it is a typical italian area (the old town) where you can see the way they live, the. way they interact with eachother. The overall town is beautiful, on the seaside, with nice people.

It is nice and relaxing to stay in the old town, as well as near the centre for the train station. You see both sides of the same town and the 2 languages of Italian and French (I speak both, so this is great). I think Ventimiglia is a hidden gem - very close to both Sanremo and Menton! Great!

The old town was interesting with a view of the marina.

The old town was interesting with a view of the marina. The restaurants offered good quality food at reasonable prices. We had excellent pasta and rice dishes which had fresh fish. It is easy to walk everywhere and the trains were on time and resonably priced.

Unfortunately, the large covered market was closed due to a fire. However, the Friday weekly market was impressive - must be more than 200 stalls! A short bus excursion to the Giardini Hanbury was very good (but you must be physically fit, as on a steep hillside down to the sea)

Ventimiglia is a traditional border town with beaches, an old quarter, a market, a new marina and usual choice of cafes and restaurants. Excellent location for visiting nearby Italian towns and french towns are easily reached using reliable trains. Great location for visiting Hanbury Gardens (15 minutes by bus).

We liked that Ventimiglia is very close to popular places...

We liked that Ventimiglia is very close to popular places such as Monaco, Menton, SanRemo. Day trips very easy to do. Some areas of Ventimiglia were dodgy but overall people very friendly, prices reasonable and beaches not overcrowded

I loved the host , Christina , she made my stay extremely wonderful , I planned to stay there only 2 nights ended up staying for 5 , even though I was in Italy few min from France and missed quite few times my train to come back . I really felt like home staying in this B&B , Christina is so positive she always was smiling and making sure I have everything , she got a new iron just for me as I asked for it , her friend and she helped me to get doctor appointment as I had an emergency. I will stay there again if I ever go back again .

Wonderful warm welcome from super friendly staff in an outstandingly stunning location. We were three sisters celebrating a significant birthday and stayed in the family suite which had two separate bedrooms with a wrap around terrace. A thrilling drive up the mountain from Ventimille added to the occasion. We were sorry not to have booked a second night. Would highly recommend this gem of a hotel.

I'm guessing I was extra lucky with this hotel, I was given a room with a sea view! Just beautiful. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the car park right outside. I could come and go with no issues. The staff were all lovely. The room was amazing and there was a great aircon. Had a good nights sleep and a nice breakfast in the morning.

Loved this place, it's clean and safe and has everything you need. Close to the train station, close to the beach and the host Alessandra was very nice and helpful. If we go back to Ventimiglia we will definitley stay here again.
