The staff is welcoming and super helpful - especially the reception desk was amazing in offering tips and advices for restaurants, sights and trips - even for our onward journey in the Southern part of Sicily! The hotel grounds are very well maintained and designed - offering both calm but also an undisturbed and amazing view to Etna, which you can enjoy both while enjoying the breakfast, swimming, or relaxing by the pool. There is free parking at the hotel within a gated area, which is super convenient - it is a good base for trips in the area.

My stay at Monaci delle Terre Nere was truly exceptional. This is a paradise on the slopes of Etna amidst the lush Sicilian countryside, the property exuded tranquillity and charm. I can't say enough about attentive service, gourmet meals sourced from their own organic garden, exceptional collection of art, fantastic wine tasting and cooking class.... and the sleep. i travel around the world a lot - this is one of THE best places to sleep and simply enjoy time at the hotel. and time here is sweet and slow, just like local honey.

A very convenient hotel if you have a car and a great starting point for trips to Etna, Taormina and Siracusa. Our room was spacious with big and comfortable bed. They cleaned the room every day. A great convenience was the parking space directly in front of the room. Great breakfast, great coffee and very polite staff. The hotel has beautiful plants and a wonderful view of Etna.
