I just wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at ALBERGO Minerva in Santa Margherita Ligure. I had a fantastic time! The hotel apartments were amazing, and I absolutely loved the great service provided by the attentive staff. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect during my stay. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, making me feel right at home. And let me tell you, the breakfast was super! It was the perfect way to start each day of my vacation. Overall, I had a great time and would highly recommend ALBERGO Minerva to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway.

I read a number of negative reviews online before staying here and had my concerns, thankfully the Hotel exceeded my expectations. The Hotel staff couldn’t have been nicer and all prices were communicated clearly to me. The room was lovely and cleaned thoroughly during my stay. Spa access was included in my stay. I stayed in the secondary building but it’s literally next door. Breakfast is €30 and spa access if not included in your stay is €50. The cost of those are consistent with the local area. As a side note a 3 mile taxi to Portofino will cost you €50 as a tourist. For the price I paid the Hotel was excellent, especially considering the cost of other 5* Hotels in the area.

We loved Santa Margherita Ligure.

We loved Santa Margherita Ligure. You are able to take nice waterfront walks, all the way to Portofino if you want. The city wasn't too crowded when we were there in October and makes an excellent base to explore other areas like the Cinque Terre, which is only 1 hour away by train. There were many restaurants to choose from and local grocery stores with reasonable prices.

SML perfect balance between Camogli and Portofino.

SML perfect balance between Camogli and Portofino. Busy, but not nuts. Expensive, but not "break the bank". Friendly without being pretentious. Like most of Italy, easy for English speakers. This review based on off-season visit, so no idea about June/July! Cinque Terre different animal, so will not compare to that city.

Nice town with much to do in town and nearby.

Nice town with much to do in town and nearby. Go to Rapallo by train and take the aerial tram to see the church and eat at the restaurant with the most beautiful terrace about 200 yards through the trees on a path of enlightenment. Go have a drink by the castle for a lively scene and view.

Lovely sea side town. Very good ferry link for Portofino. Nice shops and good restaurants and are more reasonably priced than Portofino yet only takes 15 mins to travel there by boat. We went end of season in late September and there were a lot of locals swimming and enjoying the sea. I didn't get chance to walk between the 2 resorts but it looked flat and easy. Highly recommend a visit on the ferry to Santa Fruttuoso - stunning. can get busy when a big cruise ship arrives in town. The harbour is interesting and lots to see and people watch. some of the yachts are impressive!

We only stayed one night but walked along the beach and...

We only stayed one night but walked along the beach and watched the sunset from the marina. We also visited the local shops and ate dinner in the restaurant next door which was excellent. We enjoyed the sunrise from our terrace. The pool was open but it is outside and unheated, so it was too cool to swim.

It was not as hectic as some nearby villages.

It was not as hectic as some nearby villages. But had easy access to the Cinque Terre by the train pass. Beautiful & clean. Lively atmosphere in the evening. Prices were a bit more reasonable as well.

The location was excellent. As we travelled by car the hotel provided parking fo a fee. Once unloaded the car was taken to a parking spot and on checkout brought to our room for loading the luggage. The tasty macarons in our room was a pleasant touch. We were in walking distance to town , beach, ferry. The hotel also provided suggested restaurants and bars for Santa Margherita and Potofino.

It’s so well located , just in between Portofino and Santa Margherita where you can walk (5min) and you are in the middle of everything! The hotel has a rooftop swimming pool with sunbeds and the view is insane. Best rooms are on floor 5 with big balconies.
