Fabulous location in a picturesque hamlet outside San Demetrio with nearby walks and fast access to all the sites in the vicinity - 30 minutes to L’Aquila, 60 minutes to the top of Campo Imperatore. Cosy and warm during our stay in November, with space to relax and enjoy the tranquility.

We had a wonderful vacation in Alexandra's appartment. From the first moment, we had a very warm welcome. They helped us in anything we asked for, and gave us great recommendations for travels and restaurants around. And everything with warm and fast communication. The appartment is very well equiped, quiet, warm (even in -3 celcius) and have everything you need. There are many beautiful places to visit around, and the village itself is very nice. Thank you very much! We had a great time, and even stayed more than we planned.

We liked everything. Amanda is a wonderful host; she waited for us upon our arrival and showed us a huge, clean, and well-maintained apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and bedroom on two floors. We were at the end of May, so there weren't many tourists, and the house was only for us two. Heating in the floor was a pleasant surprise, we found everything we needed in the kitchen, the living room was spacious, and quality furniture was everywhere. It's in the very center of the town, we parked in a central square and could see our car through the window, we felt safe and surrounded by luxury. Just a 20-minute drive from Aquila.

We had a great time at the Convento of San Colombo! The place itself is wonderful with its historic building, big garden, and amazing hillside views. The location is very convenient if you want to enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of a busy town, but can easily reach other villages or towns and go hiking in the mountains around. The room was spacious with a great balcony view, the beds were comfortable, and it was cleaned every day. However, the ladies working in the hotel were really the highlight of our stay, so kind and welcoming, and they made us feel right at home :) I would definitely recommend staying at the Convento and I am personally looking forward to going back someday!

My stay in Santo Stefano di Sessanio , in Sextantio Albergo Diffuso was truly unforgettable. The hotel was beautifully restored using traditional materials and techniques, giving the rooms an incredibly authentic and historic charm. It felt like stepping back in time, but with all the comfort and attention to detail you could ask for. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Fabiana and Jessica, who went above and beyond even before my arrival — answering all my questions quickly, helping me plan my trip, and organizing two amazing experiences: a cheese-making class and a bread-making class right in the village. Both were not only fun but deeply connected me to the local culture. The village itself is small but full of character. There are several lovely restaurants and charming little shops where you can find local products and souvenirs. If you love nature, you can go hiking in the nearby Gran Sasso mountains or visit historical sites like Rocca Calascio. Overall, this was a peaceful, enriching escape — the perfect place to slow down and disconnect. I would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special and authentic.

If you are looking for rural Italy, you found it.

If you are looking for rural Italy, you found it. Not too far away from Rome but this is an area without tourism. The environment is beautiful, the food is good, the people are friendly. I was there for my masters and had to stay there a few weeks. After two days it was known who I was (Dutch guy in an Audi) who spoke bad Italian but needed dinner in the evening.
