Very professional receptionist, and very pleasant. I was passing by to go down south and it was really helpful to be in touch with her, willing to provide good details and set up things right even before my arrival. We absolutely loved everything about Torre Colombaia:-) You are first met by Louisa who is an excellent host and will genuinely make you feel at home and also ensure you’ll get the most out of your planned stay, including recommending you local restaurants (not tourist traps) and if you get a chance please do go and visit the “Caseificio” next door, so that Paolo and his team will give you an amazing introduction into the wonderful world of making Parmesan cheese, which finishes with a nice cheese tasting! Torre Colombaia is surrounded by lush fields and green hills which makes it a perfect combination for a relaxing stay. Salso is a small town, nearest notable towns are Parma and Modena. The surrounding countryside is pretty awesome with castles and cheese/ham factories The town was renowned for it thermal spa baths. Now in 2024 unfortunately the town seems to be a dormitory town, with slightly passe hotels and possibly no spas. The main spa is about to have a major major overhaul and refurbishment, to be completed within the next few years. Work has already started. However, there a some nice shops and cafes, and very good restaurants. The weather was not kind to us and it was damp and cool (April would normally be warm).

It is a small town where the only thing you can do to pass the time is eat.the shops were not open on Monday -not even the pharmacies and closed for many hours during the day.during the weekend there was no taxi service

I love Salsomaggiore.

I love Salsomaggiore. This is my third visit and discovered the great Lido. The Therme itself is amazing and sad that it was closed as I have not yet been inside. Clearly a must in future. The park is delightful and shady and the restaurants friendly.

Kindness is the word that better describes this place and the management I felt home in the first moment I walked in Great value for money. I tried many hotels in Salsomaggiore but this really makes a big difference considering what you pay I definitely will be back
