It was a last minute stopover as we had to change our plans due to the weather, so the location wasn't really important and was fine for us. However we wouldn't have chosen it if we wanted to see Rovigo. On the plus side, they were really helpful and allowed us to park the motorcycle in a garage.

I was there during Christmas week so most shops, other then...

I was there during Christmas week so most shops, other then essentials, were closed- I expected that so I felt no disappointment. I was very comfortable walking on my own and I'm now interested to learn more about Rovigo's history, architecture and contemporary art scene. I'll plan to return especially because of its' close proximity to Venice, Bologna and Florence. Rovigo is an attractive get away for those interested in a quiet hub rooted in "older" traditional experiences.

Rovigo is a small, quiet town with no tourist attractions, but it's pleasant, with friendly people and relatively new buildings (less than 100 years old). It's a good place to stay and from there visit other places of interest, such as Verona, Lake Garda, or Venice. Renting a car is recommended for getting around to other towns, but the train also runs well.

The historic center is very charming; we really appreciated the hospitality. We visited the Vilhelm Hammershøi exhibition at Palazzo Roverella, which was beautiful. In town, we had dinner at the "Tavernetta Dante" and lunch at the "La Bitta" restaurant in Porto Levante. Both are highly recommended.

Rovigo is a quiet town; for a few years now, it has hosted...

Rovigo is a quiet town; for a few years now, it has hosted important art exhibitions at Palazzo Roverella. I'd recommend making it a base for visiting Ferrara, Padua, and Venice, all nearby and easily accessible by train. The Po Delta is a must-see, the real one, in the Polesine area, not Comacchio. If I'm not mistaken, the Po has been flowing into the sea in the province of Rovigo for over four centuries.

A beautiful province in northern Italy, tidy, clean, and well-maintained, with art and history sites, especially in nearby towns easily accessible by car and train. It's the center of the beautiful Polesine region. Ferrara is very easy to reach by train.

A provincial city with a decent cultural offering, excellent for walking along the canal, and equipped with cycle paths and plenty of greenery. The venues aren't all up to expectations, and some buildings, even recent ones, are in a state of disrepair. The transport network is modern and low-emission.
