The warm welcome from the hosts was excellent and amazing, going out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The property was perfect for peace and relaxation, with the surrounding garden having seating outside for dinner al fresco or even a barbecue area totally equipped. The house is warm and full of charm, making you feel at home. Highly recommended.

This hotel really is something special! Warm and welcoming atmosphere, very calm and relaxing stay here. Most of all the hosts here were absolutely lovely, kind, helpful and fun! We had a Deluxe Room with courtyard view for 1 night. The room was large and also had a large bathroom. It was impeccably clean and well appointed, and included turn down service each evening. The breakfast had a huge variety of dishes to meet just about anyone's needs. The location is perfect, sitting at the edge in the Old Town, making everything walkable. Ordered room service one night and was surprised at the relatively reasonable prices. Booked a massage one day and paid € 90 for 80 min massage. The staff were very friendly and all spoke English. The stay was worth the cost for the level of luxury and service.

An experiment. Not since my youth had I stayed in a 1 Star hotel but this particular weekend in Palermo accommodation was scarce in the Kalsa neighbourhood and I thought why not, an adventure. It is very much a trip back to nostalgia, when the 'pensione' was always a great option. Family run it's exactly that, and I have to say star ratings these days mean practically nothing, in Firenze, Rome, Venezia or Milan this would be a 3 Star. Meticulously clean and quaint walking past the family quarters and seeing Nonna in the kitchen watching TV. I had a room with ensuite and view over the city to the sea, nothing to complain about. The building well kept with a wonderful cage lift up through a grand spiral stair to the top floor.

Hotel Palazzo Balsamo is a real gem right in the heart of Palermo’s old town, on the main street full of history, beauty and great atmosphere. The place is spotless, super well maintained, and feels brand new and very chic. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, real Southern Italian hospitality, pure dolce vita! Our room was beautiful and so comfortable, with one of the best beds and showers I’ve ever had in a hotel. The breakfast was just amazing, more like a full meal, with plenty of fresh, local products. What I loved most is the attention to detail and the warm, genuine way they take care of guests. It made our stay so relaxing and stress-free. We can’t wait to come back!
