Continue into the old city and check out the museum at the base of the Pont. ( Here you can also stamp your credential.) Detailed and amazing history of the famous Roman Bridge, part of the communication network, and its WW2 history.

Pont Saint Martin is an amazing historic town but as a place...

Pont Saint Martin is an amazing historic town but as a place to live and stay, it’s tired. The most exciting shop is the salumeria. I stayed there to bus to Gressony St Jean where there is the fairytale Castle Savoy, and another day to the extraordinary Fort Bard. There are many more things to see in the area.

The covid certainly impacted on this town a lot!

The covid certainly impacted on this town a lot! There are literally no decent restaurants left. A couple of cafes and a pizza trattoria is about it along with a takeaway, fast food joint. Its a shame cos the town in simply lovely, with a great big historic bridge and Castle. Its a lovely stopover if your on your way to Gressoney Le Trinite ski area up the valley but thats about it

As I did not have a car, Pont Saint Martin is centrally located in the Aosta Valley and has great public transport. There are many great hiking trails local and a short travel by train or bus will get you to some pretty spectacular areas to hike.

Fantastic area. Lots to do. Mountains, parks, lakes, water park, outdoor activities. Beautiful setting. Lake Stresa is within 1 hr 20 mins. Mont Blanc cable car (a must) is under an hour. Lake Viverone good for pedaloes and canoes. La Turna us great for outdoor action.

This was an immaculately clean and comfortable property, with beautifully crafted furnishings. My husband and I are walking the Via Francigena and the generous and kind hostess came and picked us up from nearby Pont-Saint-Martin,we were so grateful, she was helpful in all ways and dropped us at the local laundromat the next morning, we would highly recommend this B &B

We had an amazing time at the hotel. Our room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom has all kind of toiletries and the shower is fantastic. The whole room has a nice style, a mixture of modern and rustic. The breakfast is delicious, home made yummies and warm, fresh pastries. And the owners are real sweethearts! 10/10!

We had a spacious room with a balcony, the staff were all very kind and friendly and the dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was also very good. It was nice and quiet in the hotel, good parking, and pleasant to walk around the village and visit the very interesting Roman bridge.
