We were greeted by owner once they had helped us find the parking space which was incredibly helpful. He was lovely and took us to the amazing apartment which is central in the village, so so clean and well equipped with everything you’d need. Very spacious, stocked up with breakfast foods (they also made us a cake!) and medical supplies. The apartment is very modern and is in prime location with the most amazing view from the bedroom. Although the town itself is very small, in the three days we were there we tried all the restaurants and the bar and all were amazing, highlight is the pizzeria! There is also some amazing hikes to the next village, flight of the angels (for those who dare!) and amazing views wherever you go. Thank you so much for having us, an unforgettable trip.

Pietrapertosa is a beautiful village, it is less touristic than Castelmezzano, less busy, but actually more scenic, more authentic. The apartment from Marinella is newly renovated with a fully equipped kitchen, many lovely details and a lot of charme. The "breakfast" is a large and tasteful variety of food&drinks&fesh fruits offered for free from the fridge and the board, and even a fresh cake was waiting for us. Marinella is very welcoming and truly a sweetheart. (P.S.: don't miss the pizza at "Baronetto" and the pasta at "Le Rocce")

The house is all newly refurbished. It is done very nicely, with all comforts, two beautiful bathrooms that are very handy when travelling with family, showers are lovely, kitchen is lovely, all beds are very comfortable, even the bed settee. Very high quality air conditioning units fitted, although the mountain air at night is very fresh. Beautiful views from bedroom window. The car can get close for easy off loading of bags. Easy to walk to the old town. The house has also a n access code, but I was able to meet a person. A set of key is also provided together with a parking pass which allows you to park in the blue marked parking zones at only €2 for 24h

The apartment was clean, well-equipped and had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the views and surroundings in Pietrapertosa are truly breathtaking. It’s a small mountain town built into the rocks, which makes the atmosphere very special.

We spent 36 hours in Pietrapertossa and certainly could’ve...

We spent 36 hours in Pietrapertossa and certainly could’ve stayed another day. We explored much of this charming village, but certainly didn’t see all there was to see. We walked to Castelmezzano and had a wonderful lunch there, but could’ve spent more time there as well. The Lucan Dolomites really are a gem there in the middle of southern Italy. I’m so glad we went.

Beautiful village.

Beautiful village. Went to see the Castle and did the Volo dell’Angelo (beautiful). I would have liked to stay more, do some walking, the Tibetan bridge and see the neighbouring village of Castelmezzano … need to go back.

You have to see it to believe it.

You have to see it to believe it. A visit to Pietrapertosa will confirm just what lengths the ancients would go to to protect themselves by building on the top of any place that would be incredibly difficult to attack. It is impossible to believe anyone would build in this forbidding an environment. Inspires vertigo!

The owner was extremely helpful when we arrived much later...

The owner was extremely helpful when we arrived much later than anticipated. We were guided into the accommodation and a booking made for our dinner nearby. We loved the accommodation and its view from the terrace, both of which made the long climb up the mountain worthwhile! We felt very welcome and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

It's a beautiful town.

It's a beautiful town. Well-maintained and with friendly people. We stayed for two days, eating at the town's restaurants and having a wonderful time. Everything exceeded our expectations. Very, very welcoming. I highly recommend a 2-3 day stay to enjoy the various activities and immerse yourself in the town.

A beautiful place to spend a couple of peaceful days in the mountain air. It's a welcoming and friendly place, but be aware that you'll have to climb some fairly steep steps and hills, even while walking around. We only stayed for a day and a half, too little time to explore the available excursions. Next time, we'll stay a few more days.

Super excellent host - Adele and her family ensured our check-in experience was hassle-free, they were there in person to help us with the parking and helped to drive to the property with all our luggages. The house is right in the middle of Pietrapertosa, less than 10 minutes walk to all 3 hiking spots and restaurants in town. We had the whole house which was very clean and well kept, comfortable with 2 rooms (double room downstairs and twin room up a spiral staircase), living room, kitchen and shower room.

This is a fantastic and memorable accommodation. Staying in Pietrapertosa was a highlight of our trip in Italy. Words cannot do justice to the views of this place. Be prepared to walk some steps, our 3 and 5 year olds did them, but it's very much worth it.

Comfortable apartment in a good location to visit Pietrapertosa and Castelmezzano. Beautiful terrace with a great view. Access to the place requires climbing stairs, but it's worth it!
