This is a perfect example of how hotels should operate. At Hotel Aurora you have what you need for a comfortable stay and the staff make you feel very welcome - even after check out. This is the essence of a hotel business, which many times I don't find (even in expensive luxury hotels). But Hotel Aurora is very efficiently operated, it is clean, nicely decorated, well located and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend it during your stay in Pavia. Congratulations to the management and all the staff.

Pavia has wonderful medieval churches and a big museum at the Castello. The tomb of St. Augustine is amazing, and is a favorite stopping point of Pope Leo XIV. Boethius is also buried in Pavia. The city still keeps traditional Mediterranean hours (2-2 1/2-hour break midday), so it takes a day or two longer to see all the sites. We found good restaurants and would happily have stayed longer. It is said that April-May are the best months to visit, and it was already hot (80 degrees) at the end of May.

I've visited Pavia a few times.

I've visited Pavia a few times. In a recent visit, I went to the Museo Kosmos, the Natural History Museum. Founded in the 1700's it's one of the world's oldest museums dedicated to natural history, but with a modern vibe - apparently over 500 exhibits (I didn't count them!), multimedia games, videos, interactive activities for children. An excellent place of learning.

Pavia has a modern centre and the older part has some lovely buildings. Certosa di Pavia, an old monastery, is 9 minutes by train (don't forget to validate your ticket in the machine next to the platform entrance). Do check the opening times, though. Pavia would also be convenient for visiting other cities in the area

The hotel was a stones throw from Pavia station and a few minutes walk into the main centre. Close to shops, restaurants, and cafes. Also, beautiful patisserie opposite and a laundrette. The hotel and the room were spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Everything Host was so lovely and helpful. Room was large, very clean and very comfortable and quiet. Perfect location, close to train station but easy walk into charming Pavia. Wished we could have stayed longer .
