Antonello was a most useful and kind host, who takes care of everything and reacts promptly to any question. Ollalai is a lovely village in Barbagia - not a region for those looking for vibrant nightlife and entertainment, but ideal for those seeking tranquility and silent nights. It is a good starting point to explore this part of Sardinia with many interesting villages. The LaPlaza is a small establishment, with very nicely furnished rooms that one would not expect in such a small place very much off the beaten tourist track. Having said that, the town boasts at least three bars, of which at least the Alto Bar can - in addition to be a popular place for the locals enjoying beer and football matches - offer delicious local food at moderate prices. It is also the place where breakfast is served, though the LaPlaza also has a very useful common kitchen/eating room with fridge, coffee machine, microwave etc. The rooms overlook the pleasant main square with the church and a small super-market. From here there is a less than hour walk to a nearby hill with an old monastery of St Basil, from where there are further mountain trails. We truly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend LaPlaza.

A good location for a hassle-free getaway in Gavoi, B&B Didova is a bed and breakfast surrounded by views of the mountain.

This was the perfect little bed n breakfast. We were traveling through the island and arrive to this center location. it’s a quiet beautiful area and the owner Sergio has a great restaurant focused on his own brewed beer. We also had our 3 month old baby and the cot was all set up and very comfortable.
