What a wonderful place to stay in! A stylish apartment in the centre of historic Orte. Spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you need for a great stay. Shops,restaurants and all attractions are just footsteps away. Flaviano is wonderful host; communication was excellent, checking in and out very easy and he gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants. I would definately stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.

This is a small, lovely one thousand year old town about a 1hr 15 mins north of Rome. We ate at Taverna Roberteschi in a little laneway within the castle walls. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent and the wine was fabulous. I am vegetarian and there was a delicious ravioli with saffron cream sauce that I would highly recommend! It was easy and safe to walk around this pretty village at night. We suggest that you ask the waiter at the Taverna about the easiest way to leave the town as on our first visit we found the streets very narrow to drive through but after asking the waiter on our second visit, the exit he gave us was much more straightforward and easier to navigate.

A small but charming and well-kept village perched on a tuff spur, it hasn't yet been spoiled by mass tourism. The bakery, bars, a few trattorias, and the opportunity to visit Orte's underground tunnels make it a delightful place to visit. Worth a visit, with respect.

The town is very pretty.

The town is very pretty. The historic center is very small and can be explored in just one day. The center is very difficult to navigate because the streets are narrow. There is a paid parking lot on three floors in the historic center, but to reach it you have to drive through the narrow streets. Parking at the entrance to the town is paid, but there are few.

An ancient and dilapidated Italian town on a hill.

An ancient and dilapidated Italian town on a hill. Narrow alleys, old houses, some repaired, some falling into disrepair. A small square - plaza and a couple of taverns and bars. There is historical walking there, but not much else. If you are in the area, you can stop there, but it is not an actual travel destination.

Orte was a real surprise.

Orte was a real surprise. We only knew it by name and thought it was a bland town. We couldn't be more wrong! It's a town undergoing renovation and very well-maintained. The locals are kind and helpful. Very little traffic due to the narrow streets, perfect for a stroll through the past.

The flat was on the 1st floor with plenty of space and a good bathroom with a big shower. There was a fan in the bedroom. There was plenty of kitchen equipment with a Nespresso coffee machine and there was milk juice and water in the fridge and something to eat in the morning. Valentina was particularly helpful when our flight was delayed and met us much later than expected. She also sorted out a minor problem with the shower and sink the same day we told her. Well done

La Torretta was such a wonderful place to stay, steeped in history, just round the corner from the main square (where the bus from the station arrives and leaves) Our host had left us ample breakfast treats to have at our leisure. Everything was nearby, even the tourist information centre. We found it hard to leave such a lovely apartment and Orte is one of the loveliest places we have stayed in in Italy.
