Absolutely wonderful experience! The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with so many delicious choices. The front desk staff were exceptionally warm and helpful — they went above and beyond to assist me. The people here made me feel so welcome that I truly fell in love with Modica. Having a free parking area was a huge bonus and made everything even easier. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

What a magnificent view from this hotel!! The whole panorama of Modica before you - breathtaking both during the day and at night. Super helpful staff. I had booked a standard room but, on arrival, we were given the choice of our chosen room or an upgrade to a superior one at no extra cost. Naturally, we chose the upgrade and enjoyed a much larger room with sofa and chairs. The bed was extremely comfortable. The view from our balcony incredible and, from the hotel's dining room, an even better one, with its expanse of floor to ceiling windows. We were there in April so didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting and well laid out. Reception staff were helpful with restaurant suggestions and also booked a taxi for us to go to Scicli on one of the days. To get into Modica, we chose to walk down - and back again! A LOT of steps but it didn't take long at all. And there's also a very nice restaurant just a short walk from the hotel, along the same road (with the same stunning view). Only slight negative at the hotel, for me, was the aircon; we were there in early April and they don't switch on the cooling function until later in the month. With the minibar right next to the bed putting out some heat, I did find it pretty warm during the night and had to open the balcony door. Bonus of that was hearing owls calling to each other across the town! We would definitely recommend staying here for a truly memorable time.

Modica is a very old town on South-east Sicily, quite important for her history and baroque architecture. Getting around is easy, if you like to walk a lot! There are a lot of stairs and climbings to get to Modica Alta, but it's worth. Food is very good and there are still restaurants with good prices. From Modica you can reach the beach in half an hour by car, and you can also visit several good natural spots (like Riserva Naturale di Pantalica, Cavagrande, Vendicari) just driving one/two hours. Good craftwork as well, especially ceramics.

Modica is a must-see if you are visiting the south of Sicily...

Modica is a must-see if you are visiting the south of Sicily. The rich architecture majestically adorns the hills that surround the centre. The quaint streets and stunning views are simply idyllic. We were lucky enough to visit during the Easter festivities which really highlight the spirit of Sicilian culture. You are spoilt for choice with restaurants - wherever you go the food is exquisite and the service is warm and friendly.

Modica is really cleaned and has beautiful big streets.

Modica is really cleaned and has beautiful big streets. We could visit it just by walking around. Everything was close: shops, restaurants, train station. It's family friendly. Their specialty is the meat chocolate. They have a Bubble Tea shop.

Modica is a good base to visit not only the town itself, but...

Modica is a good base to visit not only the town itself, but also the other nearby Baroque towns in the area - Ragusa, Noto and other smaller less well-known towns. It is a smaller town and appears to be less busy than the others - parking is easier for example and there is a good urban bus service (Modica is a hill town!).

Itria Modica owner really helped with choice of a restaurant on busy Saturday night. Ragusa Ibla and Modica were both interesting and quite contrasting visits. Particularly loved the hotel....views amazing and pure quality at an affordable price

Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist.

Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist. It can best be explored on foot though you will need a car to go from Modica alta to the lower area of Modica. Modica has many churches and eateries as well as shops and the narrow streets are fascinating and always offering lovely surprises. It is a hilly town so not ideal for the elderly tourst to get around unless they get a taxi

So beautiful this little gem of a hotel is tucked away right in the heart of Modica. The rooms are amazing, the owner very accommodating and friendly (he let us check in a good few hrs earlier than stated) and we had a wonderful breakfast there. It’s a stunning building and our room even had a balcony overlooking the town. Our ceilings had murials on which the owner had preserved through glass ceilings and it just added to the authenticity for our first night in Sicily.

The hotel sitting at the main street Corso Umberto I, so we can park at the opposite for free. The hotel is the old Palazzo with family-run. The decoration is so beautiful and charming with the old historic details. I stay in the Barones Room with the view on Modica’s most famous church. it was spacious and comfortable room.

Everything. Brand new. Very clean. The view is killing. Director and the the stuff lady so nice. Warm inside what is not normal for Sicily und winter ! Breakfast nice. And the roof top terrace. Room is like pictures like. Highly recommending!!
