This was a beautiful small house with a lovely garden and a fantastic view overlooking the Procchio Gulf. The beds were comfortable and the rooms felt cozy and inviting. We particularly enjoyed the private terrace, perfect for grilling and even equipped with an outdoor shower, which was a nice touch. It was also exceptionally quiet, offering perfect silence, which was truly restorative. The owner, Michele, was incredibly helpful; he not only picked us up from the port and drove us to the house, but also guided us to the best places and routes to explore the island. His assistance was especially invaluable as we unexpectedly encountered a national strike in Italy during our stay, making train and other public transportation impossible. An added bonus was that Michele also rents out bikes (both normal and electric), which was perfect because riding around Elba Island is an absolute must!

The location is amazing. It‘s in in the middle of the forest and you can relax so nice withing this peace and nature. It‘s also convinient to reach everything on the island. Andrea was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.

Marciana is a small, fine town with an old, well-preserved building structure that lives from tourism but is careful not to overcrowd the town with tourists. This way it remains authentic. The people there are usually helpful and friendly. However, very few of them can speak English.

The town is magnificent, the only flaw being the garbage...

The town is magnificent, the only flaw being the garbage collection: you can access the "recycling islands" with a magnetic card, but only on certain days of the week. Let me explain: not every day you can throw away paper, plastic, or glass. It's all very complicated and inexplicable!

Marciana Marina was enchanting; slightly after the peak season (late August to early September) was perfect. Not overcrowded, but still very welcoming to tourists. Poggio was a real find. A charming mountain village with fantastic restaurants. The nearby pebble beaches were easily accessible. We just couldn't find the ancient quarry with the Roman columns...

A charming place, with a picturesque landscape for both hiking and snorkeling. Relaxation is guaranteed, even in August. The food is excellent, with both meat and fish options available in all the traditional restaurants. The best way to get around is by motorbike.

Further away from island life.

Further away from island life. A 20-minute drive to the nearest "larger" supermarket in Marciana Marina. Portoferraio is already 45-50 minutes away, where the next large supermarket is located. If you like "seclusion," this is the place for you.

This was a gem I stumbled on by chance. Perched on the hillside with stunning views of the sea…and what sunsets! Very much a small family hotel, spotlessly cleaned ( actually by the owner) and with fresh homemade food and vegetables from the garden. And it has a pool, too.
