From our very arrival at the hotel's motorized gate through to our goodbyes we were delighted with the hotel and staff at the Santavenere! Everyone was very friendly and helpful at the hotel and the property is a joy to spend time relaxing, swimming and eating. The attention to detail and the quality of everything is amazing. It all feels authentic to Italy though and so many of the staff we spoke to are from the area. The breakfasts are to die for and unfortunately time did not allow for a dinner meal at the hotel. Swimming was a delight as were the waterfront lounge beds and staff. The front desk organized a private water tour by boat and it was spectacular. We are returning for a long stay and we look forward to it!

The location is great, nice restaurants around, a beach very close to the hotel (8 minutes walking). The breakfast is incredible, best I ever had in a Hotel. Staff are also very nice and helpful, we didn't have a car and they offer a shuttle to the train station or book taxis to go to nearby places. Can highly recommend!

Small, comfortable rooms with nice views. Plenty of hot water in the shower and warm during winter. Very generous with breakfast and tea and coffee throughout the stay. A short walk to some restaurants. Just keep in mind if visiting in February a lot of shops and restaurants are closed.

Maratea is a beautiful region and it must get quite crowded in summer. We were trying to miss the crowds and we did. In fact, it was very quiet in the last week of October with almost no tourists and just the small population of residents.

We had the most amazing meal at La Torre restaurant, Giuseppe is an amazing chef. His wife is an amazing host. Our food was of a very high standard and very well presented. I had a glass of red wine that was from the area. I so regret not taking a box home. Absolutely, love our stay. Unfortunately we only stayed one night. Will go back for sure.

Loved going up to Christ the Redeemer it was a fantastic view of the area.Worth the zigzag drive up . We went into the village and down by the boat harbour for dinner . Had the best ever dessert at 1999 ll Ristorante. The food there was amazing . Loved the beach ,the water felt warm , great for swimming. The only thing we found difficult was parking . It’s easy to find your way around but parking is difficult.

It would be nice to have a bit of information supplied where...

It would be nice to have a bit of information supplied where the beaches and beach restaurants/facilities are. Also some details for walks in the area, with enough details about paths and directions to be able to go on them without getting lost.

Take a car. Stay at the hotel Murmann - it’s very good. The beach has nothing to offer. The port area is worth a quick look if you have a car but is not a pleasant walk from the hotel. A local restaurant A Fuoco Lente was very good with friendly staff

Beautiful countryside; mountains AND sea. Quiet too.

Beautiful countryside; mountains AND sea. Quiet too. Great for walkers, but if you want to go far afield a car is useful - can be hired in Maratea. Everyone helpful and friendly. not a lot of English spoken (why should they!) but you can get by easily enough. Assume it is busier later in teh year but springtime is lovely.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The location is beautiful- very peaceful. Our room was spacious and modern. The breakfast was delicious. The host was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is 15 minutes drive into Maratea Port with some lovely restaurants for dinner.

World class view from the room and terraces. Very good breakfast. Quiet and calm little village in late season. Very good beaches within walking distance. The whole Maratea area is so beautiful and relaxing!
