It is a nice town with regular ferries to Intra on the opposite side of the lake. The railway station is next to the ferry with trains to Switzerland and Milan. Shopping is easy. There is a cable car lift which is really nice.

If you want to travel around the lake, select a small car,...

If you want to travel around the lake, select a small car, the roads are narrow. Travelling clockwise around the lake clockwise will position you near to the lake and avoid the rocky side! DO NOT park near markets on market days, the cars parked near the market are the traders cars. You will have your car towed away. Any place without blue parking lines is likely to result in a fine.

The location provides a great viewpoint over Lago Maggiore. The larger accommodation offered was spacious and quiet, with a separate sitting area and a patio. The breakfast was good as they offered scrambled eggs to go along their continental breakfast buffet and fresh fruit juices. The on-site restaurant was excellent and the 10% discount for hotel guests was appreciated. This was a great location for a multi-day stay. We loved it. Locanda Pozzetto had great staff and a very special place - memorable! Disliked · Parking was tight (large cars would have a tough time). My wife wished the room was better decorated... If they added a small fridge to the apartment (it has the hotel mini-bar fridge) the room would have been perfect.

A nice little town on the lake shore of Lago die Maggiore East side. Many cafes and restaurants as well as the outstanding gourmet restaurant La Tavola. Hiking, biking, sailing, swimming all possible. Landscape just amazing. Many ferries to multiple places to the west site!!

Laveno is a quiet jewel on Lake Magiorre.

Laveno is a quiet jewel on Lake Magiorre. It boasts all the incredible views, charm and easy accessibility to the lake and surrounding area without the huge crowds and touristy traps. The ferry provides easy travel to Intra and onward to Stressa. We loved our boat trip to the picture perfect Borromean Islands. There is also a cable car at Laveno offering astonishing lake views from its peak.

The location and setting of this hotel was truly stunning.

The location and setting of this hotel was truly stunning. Great breakfast, nice pool but the steam room and sauna was not in operation while I was there. Close enough to town for a stroll in and access to some great little restaurants. The staff were very helpful and left you alone if you wanted to be so it felt like being in your own bubble

A Beautiful hotel in quiet surroundings, the staff were all amazing and had a great knowledge of English. The facilities were top-notch notch and the breakfast was great. Nothing bad to say, everything was so good. The fact they included dinner and wine in the price was such a bonus.

As a family of four, we can warmly recommend this spacious and modern apartment in Laveno-Mombello. It has a day and a night section, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We also really liked the balcony with a beautiful view of the city and the mountains. We will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel overlooking the lake. The hotel is outside Lavano, but as long as you've got a car that's no problem at all. The view more than makes up for it.
