Excellent location. Handy (<100m) to ferry, train and bus. Many restaurants close by. Nice breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. We needed a late check in which was accommodated without fuss. Good lake view from the front rooms and it has a lift. It's summer so it was pretty hot on the balcony but the air-conditioning worked well.

Lovely boutique hotel in gorgeous location on Lake Maggiore. Loved the view of the lake from our lake-view suite. Suite was a very good value. Hotel rooms are bright, fresh, clean, and well-appointed. Comfortable beds. Air-conditioning worked great. The bathroom was large (for Europe) and very nicely done. Good lighting. Breakfast was good—all you would expect in a European continental breakfast. Eggs made any way you want upon request. Espresso drinks also made upon request. Hotel staff were gracious and helpful. Wonderful stay!

Stunning location in the hills overlooking Lake Maggiore. Wonderful friendly hosts. We stayed in two rooms, both with a view over the lake and both of which we loved. The breakfast was exceptional, with lovely fresh eggs, delicious meats, cheeses, fruits, pastries and jams. The pool area was superb and super relaxing - so nice to sip away an Aperol in the sun while reading a book or simply watching the clouds float past. The general ambiance was top notch and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The dinner at the lovely restaurant was 5 star and overall we couldn't have wished for a better or more idillic stay. Highly, highly recommended.

The 180º views from the balcony, the view from the living...

The 180º views from the balcony, the view from the living room and master bedroom are great, but not perfect as you still had the backside of another apartment block and its roof in sight. Bringing your own bed sheets and towels (or renting it) is a let down at this price but we managed well with our own as we arrived in our own car. There is a construction site on an adjacent vacant property, generating the usual noise. Walks directly from the site are possible and very well signposted. The walk down to a little beach at the lake next to a sailing and rowing club is steep at first and then a bit daunting when you have to walk along the main road with fast traffic and no sidewalks for pedestrians

Ghiffa has many beautiful villas, but many are either empty...

Ghiffa has many beautiful villas, but many are either empty or only used occasionally. The town is an excellent base for excursions in Piedmont, especially to Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta. Many travelers only stop here for one night on their way south. However, it's also well worth a visit as a destination in its own right. The restaurants are good, though few in number.

Not a tourist destination. The beach is dominated by the smell of the closed bar and torn garbage bags. No way to buy drinks in the center, no gelateria open during the day. No activities for children.

Ghiffa is rather unappealing; there are a few restaurants and bars, but no shops or charming alleyways. A small section of the waterfront promenade is very nicely laid out. From the church on Monte Ghiffa (about a 40-minute climb), there's a fantastic panoramic view.

Exceptionally friendly staff...the beach is idyllic...The restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake. Very dog-friendly – we felt very comfortable in the suite with a balcony overlooking the lake. We would definitely come back!

Ghiffa itself isn't particularly interesting for the village...

Ghiffa itself isn't particularly interesting for the village. However, it's ideally located for visiting the sights on Lake Maggiore. It's 5 km from the ferry terminals that take you everywhere.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Selva. The host gave us a warm welcome and was incredibly kind and helpful. The villa itself and the surrounding park are beautiful and very well maintained. Parking was easy and convenient. The apartment is tastefully furnished and offers a stunning view of the lake. Many attractions and shops around Lake Maggiore are easily accessible from Ghiffa. All in all, it was a truly delightful holiday!

The apartment finish is of high standard. Eveeythimg needed for self-catering is available. We arrived late but our host Euginia was very helpful and understanding. She helped us with information for self check in promptly. The view of the lake from the apartment in the morning was amazing. Verbania is about 7-10 min and Stressa about 30 min drive
