Excellent, location in a gorgeous little cobbled street in the old part of town, very close to restaurants & bars. Exceptional cleanliness - probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in on our world wide travels. Wonderful, friendly & helpful concierge, Johnny, who went out of his way to show us how to get about town, he took the time to tell us about the sights & good restaurants. We feel like we’ve made a new friend. It’s 2 star rating does not do this hotel justice & should certainly not deter anyone from staying here - the rooms are very well equipped with tea & coffee facilities & complimentary toiletries in the shower room. We had a large shower & plenty of towels. Crisp white bedding & very comfortable pillows. Air con in our room which was needed as the weather was beautifully warm. The hotel organised our airport transfer with a local car firm who were also very helpful & extremely efficient. We loved our stay here & we’re sad to leave but we definitely hope to return in the future.

The beautiful setting outside Cassino adds to the ambiance of the guest house. We had a wonderful evening meal at the property taking the advice of the chef from the limited options. Local produce was used. Last time there we had to go into town for food - the host suggested superb restaurants! Breakfast was as before, limited but adequate. We’d stay again! Rooms were clean and functional.

We were there for 2 days before the cruise.

We were there for 2 days before the cruise. The restaurants along the beach seem to be tourist traps. The Sealovers House is where we stayed, was disappointing. No hot water and a broken elevator on the 3rd floor. The MyLord restaurant was a fail. My pasta was so salty I couldn't eat it. The waiter didn't care. I feel like the area is taking advantage of a good thing they have at the port,for consumers. On a good note, the waterfront is beautiful. Convenient for a cruise out of Rome. Good Luck!

This was my third time to Civitavecchia but my second time...

This was my third time to Civitavecchia but my second time staying here for one overnight night before departing on a cruise. Civitavecchia is a charming and safe city. Both of my stays were just a few blocks from the water front. I love the charm of it all and would stay here again. Check on a map for the location of your hotel before you book so you can be sure you are in an area that suits your needs.

I have stayed here several times before cruises. In the "gothic" area within remains of old city wall are several modestly priced family owned restaurants. My favorite has become "Count Zeno" . The Catholic Church at end of street has a wonderful history of giving appropriate respect and prayerful burials of bodies found along beach and outside the walls. The interior is a jewel box with esquisite art work. Liturgy was well celebrated Sunday Masses were full with varied congregation and there are evening weekday Masses. The central Market is worth a visit and since you have a well stocked kitchen at your disposal, it's easy to prepare yourself meals. Many good bakeries in area. The restaurants along the waterfront are overpriced. Seafood is expensive and they cater to tourists. There are several well stocked and well priced wine shops where you can good excellent wines to enjoy

Nice small Italian town downtown close to the train station we were so busy never even had a chance to visit the fort Plenty of places that made house deliveries and the Hotel Bogo is a few meters away with lots of dinner choices.

There is no easy walking access to the cruise port or...

There is no easy walking access to the cruise port or terminals, you will have to book a taxi OR take a bus from the train station to the port (40e). It is confusing and not well detailed by the cruise companies - do your research. Taxi from the train station to an apartment is equally a hassle (30e minimum).

Great location for a pre cruise stay.

Great location for a pre cruise stay. You have to be in shape for the stairs! The setup to get in was horrendous. Room was big, bed comfortable (queen), bathroom good. It's a 4 bedroom apartment with a communal kitchen/ eating area.

This was the perfect little place to start our Italian holiday! Tamara & Marco were the best - so hospitable and so warm - even after our arrival was delayed due to long lines at the airport. They were so thoughtful and offered so much! The apartment is beautiful, and the location just felt so special. Arriving here for my first ever visit to Italy was everything I could hope for - authentic and vibrant! Highly recommend especially if you are jumping on a cruise the next day. The cruise terminal busses are just a short walk away.

Hospitality, location and home from home comforts - all provided by Loris and Ambra made our stay in Civitavecchia so wonderful. The friendly charm and exceptional guest satisfaction from Loris which enabled us to watch a Liverpool v Arsenal football match gives the Casa Sul Mare 6 stars!! Thank you to Loris and Ambra for all their wonderful attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble. You certainly do not get such personal service from a bigger hotel. It was like staying with friends.

A port city which is breathtaking. Personally, it is very much like Cape Town in South Africa. The one night stay at Alloggio Turistico was most welcoming. I want to personally thank Cherrie and Anna for the superb and comfortable accommodation. It was home away from home experience. For our next visit to Civitavecchia, this hotel will be a must. It was a real pleasure to be welcomed by these two formidable women
