Everything about the apartment was great, lovely and spacious with a well equipped kitchen, and in a great location one minute from free parking and just a few minutes to the main square. The breakfast was also amazing and much more than we expected, we got a basket of fresh pastries, yoghurt, meat, cheese, fruit and other bits left outside our room for us which was a lovely start to the day. Really great value for money, definitely recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous place and location rich in history. All mod cons. Beautifully decorated room in medieval style. Original 12th century building but beautifully refurbished. We were only sorry we were only there for a quick one night stay, so we did not get to enjoy the gardens and museum at the venue. We hope to return. Host Germana was warm and accommodating. Free parking. Easy reach of Cividale del Fruili by car just a 5 min drive. Lovely breakfast with generous fruit salad. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful kitchen area with a fridge guests can use. Generous toileteries and extras, eg. toothbrush if you need them. Inside more like a hotel than a monastery! They were very relaxed about check in and check out times since we were running late arriving and leaving.

We could not have asked for a better stay, we were blown away! Paolo and his team looked after us so well. The location is beautiful, car is essential. The pool area is new, clean, well equipped and of course, stunning. The rooms were so cleaned (and cleaned daily). Breakfast was delicious! Every morning was fresh bread, cheese, meats, freshly baked cakes and fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm (the eggs were the highlight of the breakfast!). On our last day, we were leaving for the airport at 05:30 so would miss the breakfast, however our doorbell rang at 21:30 the night before when we got in from dinner, and they had prepared us a tray for breakfast the next morning so we didn’t miss out. They even gave us coffee in a flask! We were so impressed by the service. We also ate dinner at the farm one night, which was a delicious 10 course of small plates, all foods from the surrounding area. We have already talked about how we will come back in the future- such a relaxing, tranquil and beautiful place to stay. Thank you!!!

Located right in the town center Domus iulii was the best choice for a one night stop in Cividale. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and the bed was also very comfortable. The windows were overlooking the main square. Francesca and Christina are amazing hosts they have event brought Nutella croissant from the next door bakery for my daughter as she preferred that over the jam filled one. I am sure we will come back for a longer stay!

A very nice historical town!

A very nice historical town! You can just hang out by the bridge, watch the river and mountains or you can explore the small streets on your own. There are many nice places to have a glass of wine or to buy some local pastries. You may also see that the center is full of locals who like to go out and the atmosphere in Cividale is really friendly!

A beautiful town with a wonderful atmosphere, in an excellent location close to both the sea and the mountains. Free parking near the center, several shops with local food, and a few caffeterias and gelaterias. An ideal place for a vacation.

We stopped here on our way from Postjona, Slovenia back to...

We stopped here on our way from Postjona, Slovenia back to Venice to catch our flight home. We found Cividale del Friuli charming and very historical. It was an interesting place and we got a lot out of our less then 24 hours there. There are some great restaurants and museums. We went to the Archeological museum and it was very interesting. There are views of mountains around. We had a rental car with Navigation so that helped us get around. If you are there on a Sunday night restaurant options will be limited

A calm delightful town.

A calm delightful town. It deserves to be better known in the area. The atmosphere was very relaxing to walk around. On Mondays most shops are closed. We experienced the lively café culture on Tuesday morning. Loads of cyclists passing through. The monastery is exceptionally interesting. We bought food in the supermarket and cooked for ourselves. Would be happy to visit again.

It has a small-town feel, with a pleasant old-town feel.

It has a small-town feel, with a pleasant old-town feel. It is also highly recommended for hikers due to its proximity to the Alps. I can recommend the restaurant Ristorante Pizzeria al Cervo D'Oro - and not just for the traditional Italian food

Cividale is a truly charming little town with wonderful...

Cividale is a truly charming little town with wonderful medieval streets,buildings,squares and museums. It's a quiet, historic town and ideal as a base to discover the Friuli region. Udine is just a short ride away, the Slovenian border only a few kms away. If you are a wine enthusiast like myself you have small wine bars around the town serving the delicious local Friulian wines and there are many vineyards just a short drive away. There is a good choice of restaurants serving the local cuisine. Definitely a place to revisit.

It was just one night stay on the way to southern italy. For this purpose it is excellent- in the middle of city, parking for free on own permises, the breakfast ( really tasty and large choice of meals) is served by the owner, who is really kind. Shared bathroom and toilet is no problem as there are just 3 rooms on the floor. Really nice stay. The city itself is really worth at least one day visit

The location is fantastic, right into the beautiful old town, walking distance to attractions. This is a family own hotel, with big new renovated rooms, comfortable and the owners are willing to help in absolutely anything is needed. Kind and very caring owners.
