Very nice boutique hotel, extremely well situated in Catania, with minimalist yet stylish (and spacious) room. The hotel staff were very friendly. The restaurant - both for dinner and breakfast - is a must! The dinner was delicious and the wine amazing. The breakfast was equally wonderful with a lot of tasty and local products. I would definitely recommend this place for any stay in Catania and hope to be back.

It's absolutely amazing. We love staying in boutique hotels. This was one of the very best, if not the best we've stayed in. Stunning interior design, amazing views, luxurious toiletries and outstanding service. Catania is a lovely city.

We just came back from our stay at Nèroli Bio Relais and can only highly recommend it. The location and the rooms are beautifully renovated and we felt really welcome. Our dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately we had no time to test the swimming pool. As we had to leave early this morning to catch our flight, before breakfast was served, we were provided with a coffee machine and a breakfast box with sweet and salty food. Lovely hospitality!

We came in really late, and there was someone waiting for us. the host was very nice. And the location is good as well, you can walk from the hotel to the main street with no problem. The room was great, the cappuccino was good. The breakfast was a little light if you eat Kosher so you can go to the street and eat there instead. Great experience

FAQs about hotels in Catania

A Perfect Combination of Ancient and Modern

Located on Sicily’s eastern coast, at the foot of Mount Etna, Catania is the island’s second largest city. This charming destination features unique Sicilian Baroque architecture, large squares, avenues and a very important port.

On the northern side of the Cathedral Square, the historical Palazzo degli Elefanti houses the Town Hall of Catania. The Elephant Fountain is the city’s symbol and the entrance to the main shopping area. Surrounded by stunning Baroque buildings, Piazza del Duomo is a popular meeting point for tourists and locals.

Dedicated to Saint Agata and built over the Roman Baths of Achilles, the Duomo has an impressive facade that is one of Gia Battista Vaccarini’s masterpieces. The cathedral’s dome dates to 1802, while in the vaulted interior is the grave of the well-known composer Vincenzo Bellini.

Facing the Ionian Sea, this beautiful seaside place is one the hottest Italian cities during the summer. Mount Etna is an active volcano and a nice place for skiing in winter or a trip to the solidified rivers of lava during the rest of the year.

With the busiest airport in Sicily, Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, Catania is easily accessible by numerous European destinations like Munich, Rome and London. You can stay in one of the Catania hotels, guest houses or hostels Booking.com offers.

2 days in Catania were just enough, unless you start visiting the places around the town. The city is very interesting , from the history point of view, but unfortunately most of its beautiful architecture is in a dire need of renovation+ streets are dirty - almost everywhere. Tour guides and stuff in restaurants are very nice, just be prepared that their 10 minutes is about 3 times longer than on your clock or more:-)

Catania is the capital of "Dark" baroque immersed in history with a plethora of churches and historical palazzi. The coffee and sweet pastries are second to none. Try a raviola with sweet ricotta baked or fried and your palate will never be the same. Due to over fishing and global warming the variety of the fish displayed at the historical fish market has unfortunately noticeably declined. The administration should consider going the full mile and plan an underground/overground frequent connection from the airport to the city centre (sesticoro metro).

At the first glance, the streets and the buildings seem dark and dirty, but I would say that Catania is just not as photogenic as many other cities. The feeling changes once you get used to the dark (volcanic) stone it was built with; I am from Dalmatia (Croatia) and I am used to the white marble we have so Catania seemed weird and even ugly at first. But give it time! My plan was to use Catania just as a base for my visit to Etna craters (I strongly recommend), so I did not expect anything from the city itself, I stayed for a very short time and missed a chance to visit everything it offers, but I think that was a mistake and that I might come back! Visited both Greek and Roman theatre, had some cannoli. The airport is very close to the city, don't miss visiting gorgeous Taormina while you are in Catania!!! (And far less gorgeous and messy Siracusa and its stunning Greek theatre and Archeological museum).

Catania was a bit surprising, and not in the best way.

Catania was a bit surprising, and not in the best way. Compared to other Italian cities I’ve visited, the city lacks cleanliness and in some places has an unpleasant smell. In many cafés, the waiters speak English poorly, but everything can be worked out. People are friendly. If you choose a good place to stay, you can walk to many spots. There are both paid and free beaches; we chose a paid one for comfort (sunbeds). It’s convenient to travel to Syracuse or Taormina by bus. I would recommend staying for 1–2 days and then continuing to explore other parts of Sicily.

I stayed at the Etnea Boutique Hotel and the experience was truly wonderful. The property is in a strategic location, right on Via Etnea, making it perfect for exploring Catania on foot and enjoying the lively atmosphere of the city center. The rooms are well designed, spotless, and tastefully furnished, combining modern style with comfort. Some offer a wonderful view of Mount Etna or the city, which makes the stay even more special. The staff is extremely kind and always available

Really charming boutique hotel in a perfect location for exploring the city and also very close to the most popular area. Lerodana and Sara were so lovely and friendly it made our short stay a delight. The bedroom was on of the nice we have had in Italy with domed ceiling and bags of character. When we next go to Catania we won’t even look at other hotels and will stay here again
