The vacation in La Bussola Hotel worths it on so many levels! First of all, it was our first trip to Italy, we had no experience and actually no idea what is the better option/region/place to stay. Everything we wanted a vacation near the sea, so a good beach was a priority, not far from some city, cleanliness and a good view. And fortunately we’ve chosen the La Bussola so got everything we wanted and even more. Yes, it was not on beach itself and not in the center of Tropea - that’s something we were worried about before coming here, but it wasn’t a problem at all, as it is still close to the seaside and it takes just a few minutes to get there by car, or especially with the transfer provided by the hotel, it is very convenient and easy, the bus is modern and the driver is very nice! The room was clean (big appreciation to the ladies in charge of that, they were extremely nice and did everything just perfectly, loved them!), if you pay for the room with sea view you’ll get a very beautiful sunsets every evening. The room has a fridge with few bottles of free water and actually everything you need for a basic stay - towels, soap and shower gel/shampoo, hairdryer and AC. Wi-Fi is very good, which is a rare thing for hotels) The area of the hotel is very nice! It’s well maintained, a lot of greenery, fruits, free access to the pool (which appeared to be also not a very common thing for other hotels) and free parking. The pool is just a piece of free paradise!) Also there is a restaurant with very delicious food, live music and perfect service! As we were concerned about our free time and activities it was very helpful, because you can go and have fun any time at evening , just down the stairs (but if you want some peace it is also not a problem, the sounds from the restaurant isn’t that loud and you can barely hear it from the rooms).

Very kind and friendly staff. A wonderful, large, and clean swimming pool with a stunning sea view, and comfortable apartments. The beach is nearby — the coastline and water are absolutely clean. You can either walk to the beach or use the hotel’s shuttle service, which runs back and forth throughout the day. The hotel also has a bar and a restaurant. You can easily reach a beautiful nearby town and stroll through its charming streets, where you’ll find plenty of restaurants and various shops. There is also a fantastic sandy beach there. We will definitely come back again!

We had an absolutely exceptional stay at Hotel Marinella. We were there on a special deal, off season, had a wonderful room with a breathtaking Seaview and a balcony. I have never seen such good value for money. Breakfast was included and was lovely, we had it outside on the terrasse overlooking the sea. The staff was lovely and incredibly helpful.

great sea for snorkeling but sometimes jellyfish on Grotticelle beach (very painful for kids) - in Tropea no jellyfish and calm sea all the times. in summer has the area problems with water supply - before check-in ask the owner of the property of the state of water in the tanks (we had bad luck in July, our apartment ran out of water twice a week - very stressful) the beaches of Capo Vaticano are available by car (parking is for 1,50 Eur/hour) or on foot 20min walk downhill (but up the hill in hot weather is guite a challenge) snorkeling in this sea is like in an aquarium :-)

The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and spacious.

The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and spacious. The wifi and speed was amazing. The food was good. The breakfast was not entirely free as the website suggests. The lunch buffet was delicious and loved the female bartender at the snack shack by the pool who helped us. The hotel was not a 4 star as it states and the neighbourhood surrounding the hotel is poor and run down, not safe to walk around at night. There is no iron available for hotel guests. The hotel pool needs to be fixed and maintained. The tiles are missing throughout the pool and the pool has algae growing on the side tiles. The beach made up for the pool. We had to buy towels as the hotel did not supply towels for pool/beach, 10 Euros a towel at the local market. The ocean floor is rocky and slimy and its very difficult to get in. We were not prepared to deal with the rockiness of the beach and needed to buy water shoes.

The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with spectacular views from the balcony. The pool area was well maintained, offering plenty of sunbeds in a relaxed atmosphere. Light meals were available at the pool bar, which added to the convenience. Staff were very obliging and always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was plentiful, and we were pleasantly surprised by the generous spread of Calabrian cuisine the one evening we dined in.

We are returning customers. It is a very peaceful and safe location with plenty of private parking space. The sea view apartments offer stunning views of Stromboli sunsets during the summer. Our apartment was very spacious and comfortable.The host is extremely helpful. It is a great base to explore southern parts of Calabria with its beautiful coastline and cuisine.

Location was perfect for what I needed to be, about a 15min walk from the station. Surrounded by other hotels. Host was incredibly helpful and friendly and made sure we weren’t missing a thing. Must try the pizza’s downstairs!!
